I want to automatically parse RSS feeds and let jdownloader download the result automatically.
I heard it can be done with flexget(not flashgot) - and I wanted to know if someone succeeded doing that

Generel Discussion threads can be marked as solved because most times there is nothing to solve

Cool

yes I know.actually I started writing the plug-in my self(so far it kinda works as a standalone jar).
I just wanted to use something that works in the meanwhile, and I can't make this flexget thing to work properly.

feedreader works well enough. there are some cop/paste issues, though.

no idea, if flexget works.

- install jd, activate linkgrabber
- install feedreader
- subscribe to a rss feed in feedreader (e.g. from rlslog)
- single click on rss post to view the title page of the post
- double click on rss post to open the whole page in feedreader
- single links (html): right-click -> copy shortcut
- single links (text only): mark links and press ctrl-c
- multiple links: mark links and press ctrl-c (this sometimes doesn't work properly, bug is reported)

workaround for multiple links:

- mark links and press ctrl-c
- open notepad and press: ctrl-v -> ctrl-a -> ctrl-c (that corrects the links for some reason)
- open jd -> clear linkgrabber list -> paste links

pretty straight-forward, really. i used other rss readers as well, but feedreader worked best.

nope, it's not automatic.
considering the massive amount of new releases, not to mention the different copies of each release an automatic download would wipe out my hdd within days. and i have a LOT of drivespace.
it would just fill up with 5 copies of this and 10 copies of that (same file, different name) and so on.

just try a rss feed from tinydl and you'll see, what i mean. A feed from rlslog would be even worse, since each post has the same file in about 20 versions from different och.

even, if you can parse the post, filter and extract all the links, you would have to manually select the ones you want. or, conversely, delete the ones you don't.

going legal is so tiresome... i'm starting to miss my emule...
