Default JD is destroying my PC

Hi, I´m new in the forum. First of all.. this are my PC specs as far as I know:
Intel Core 2 Duo E5400
2 GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia Geforce 210
Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bits
ESET NOD32 4 Antivirus

My problem with JD is that it slows down my computer a lot. When I just open it, the computer runs fine but after an hour it starts running slower.. when more or less 5 hours have passed, I have to Restart the Computer because applications start to fail and the computer is too slow. When JD isn't running the PC runs fine, I can leave it for a day turned on and the speed is the same. But with JD running it's no use. I had another computer before this one with lower specs and it happened exactly the same, the pc slowed down a lot after a while and became impossible to do anything, I had to restart it. I have both JD and Java in the exception list of Windows Firewall and both up to date.
Another bug in JD is that sometimes, randomly, it freezes and a little black square appears when I want to maximize JD window. I have to stop the process from the task administrator because it wont let me do anything.
Well, I hope you will give me a quick answer and to have given enough information.

I have had a similar experience, and I don't mean to thread jack, I just want to help contribute my info to help resolve a bug.

my PC doesn't slow down:

My PC Specs:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400
8 GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia Geforce 9600GT
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
ESET NOD32 4 Antivirus (4.2.40.0)
Java 6u21 (32-bit) version
JDownloader 0.9.580

I do have JD freeze, and when I want to open it up I just see a black box, and I eventually have to close the process, and re-open JD.

I have been able to narrow down this to a couple of links that when they try to download it causes this problem. (Although no logs are shown in JD)

I even went back to the download version (0.9.334), and it still is happening.

I am going to try this at work tomorrow (I have a direct connection to the internet, (no firewall blocking me), since I am the net admin, so hopefully I can find some additional info to report back on).

Edit:
Nidash, have you tried cleaning your java cache? Just a thought, also what Java and JD versions are you running?
To Clean Java cache, Control Panel, Java, Settings, Delete Files.

I got this computer a week ago, so the Java cache shouldn't be the problem, nevertheless I tried cleaning it but it did nothing. I have the latest versions of both programs (Java Update 22 and JD 0.9.580). When JD is running other programs not only slow down but also they seem to start failing. I checked JD memory consumption and the task manager show between 140 mb and 200 mb.

Your both configuration have one common thing: NOD32 - it may cause the problems with jD (also check other posts about NOD32).
Make sure that jD is added to trusted software in your antivirus and also disable web scanning in your virus software.

@Nidash: other programms having issues while jd is running -> firewall/av went crazy. nothing news and very common, eg kaspersky and other software. setup them correct and put java.exe and javaw.exe to the excdlue list

@haydeez8419: please don't highjack such old threads but create new one next time.
What are your system specs? What OS? What exactly do you mean by "slowing down"? While downloading or in idle state? Where do you download to? USB/HDD/SSD? HDD is what drive model? is it SMR drive model?
