Default Rename/change folder...do not work as expected when property window is visible

Build Wed Mar 09 16:36:51 CET 2022

- Select any file (or package)
- Make sure the properties-pane is shown
- hit F2 to rename the file in the download-list (or linkgrabber)
- rename it to anything and hit Enter
- select any other entry in the list

The name-change will be undone about a second after deselecting the renamed entry.

If either the properties-pane is disabled or the renaming is done in the properties-pane, the name-change does stick.

There's another problem that may be related: When I set a download's priority (either by table column or by context menu), the previous priority is applied again (on single-item selection after less than half a second after deselecting the item or selecting another item; on multi-item selection directly after setting the priority). This only happens for the one selection item with the focus (a single-item selection or the last selected item of a multi-item selection).

Edit: OK, whether it's directly after setting the priority depends on whether you use the context menu. It also happens with single-selection items in this case.

Also: The priority dropdown button in the table doesn't always react. I often have to click multiple times.

Issue is caused by the properties panel at the bottom. my recent changes causes the issue that changes within the table will be *overwritten* when the property panel at the bottom is visible. I will work/fix this by tomorrow morning

Exclamation Renaming packages in linkgrabber fails when using grid

Renaming packages or files in Linkgrabber fails when editing the "name" column in the main grid (package name is being restored after pressing Enter).
Editing package name in the properties area works as long you don't use Backspace: Pressing Backspace restores the complete package name every second time you press it.

Using JDownloader 2 (up to date) on Windows 10.

Not critical but annoying.

Cheers

I wanted to get rid of some internal references that could be held too long and had to rewrite the load/save stuff for the properties.

It's all right, take your time. For the time being I'm just using the properties panel, that seems to be the one to properly commit. F2 one doesn't commit.

Default Set Priority no longer working

Set priority is no longer working. When I try to set priority, the icon will show up for a brief instant, then revert back to default priority.

I'm sorry that the bugfix for this issue is still not available but I really don't feel well about releasing it later this day with weekend ahead. Please forgive me that you will have to fight with this issue till beginning of next week.

Default Downloadpfad setzen funktioniert nicht richtig

Hallo zusammen,

Default Jdownloader2 won't let me rename files with F2 anymore.

I used to be able to rename files using F2, but for some reason it now only lets me rename files by going directly the the File Name on the menu that comes up below.

Default File-name rename BUG since last update

Hello!

Since last update (11.03.2022) i CANNOT rename the items into download list.

You can see it in this video demostration:
http s://youtu.be/W-R_K3ojecU

- I dont changed any settings before/after update
- I have restart the app - not solved
- I have restart my PC - not solved
- I have deinstall the app (and deleted all item into AppData-folder (LocalLow+Roaming)) & re-install it again - not solved
- I have checked if Scroll Lock is on > is not on! - not solved

Why I cannot rename ??? What is happened?

I would be very thankful for your advice!

Jiaz,

I really appreciate your effort keeping us updated here.

I'm not too deep in Java - C# is my favorite. But I'd expect something of the complexity of JDownloader uses some MVP or MVVM pattern...

And don't tell me it would take too much time to implement. The time already spent on fixing this event handling issue would have better used for some work on those patterns. Let me know if you need some training or consulting about this, doing this my main job.

Cheers

Hi,

I can confirm, but it seems it's only happening when the Property Panel is active.
When I rename a package using the inline editor (F2 or double-click on the package name) while the property panel is active, the package name doesn't change in the property panel, so when I click somewhere else, the original package name restored.

Definitely a bug. An annoying one.

Cheers,
M

Default JD2 Linkgrabber no longer letting me Move Titles

Since the last update maybe the one before don't remember exactly.

For example if I grab a video and a srt sometimes the srt is put into its own folder and I used to be able to grab such and move it to the video folder that was created in linkgrabber. This seems to no longer be the case.

The same is true if I grab something like a magazine of same name but different dates I can no longer move one date file to the other date files folder name.

As you can see by the screen shot, the 3.English.srt and 4.English.srt can not be moved to the Genesis The Creation And The Flood 1994 BRRip x264-ION10 folder. I cna not grab them one by one or multiples and drag/move to the main folder they actually belong in which means after dling I have to manually find and move them to where they should be.

Renaming a package's working just fine when the Property Panel isn't active, in my experience.

@Statter: drag/dop move should work just fine, but most likely issue is the same as here. Try to close the properties panel at the bottom

I just tried it today and it is still not working I closed the properties and tried to move a file to a file dl link of the same name after renaming it properly. The link would not move but as you said that you all may have fixed it and to wait for next update we shall see and I'll report back if fixed or not.

thanks again for all the work you all do for us.

@Statter: this issue is most likely the known MacOS issue with drag/drop. What mouse are you using? magic mouse?

Using latest, still exhibit this issue
Recreate:
click on link. properties window appear
rename file
click on empty JD area
filename reverts, properties window disappears

yes, hiding properties window still resolves the issue. thanks for the workaround.

I'm using the track pad only that comes with both laptops and the issue is on both machines I am using atm. wether booted into 10.6.8 or 10.13.6

MacBook Pro (17-inch, Mid 2010) 10.13.6 (17G14042)
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2007) Dual boot 10.6.8 and 10.13.6 (17G14042)

As I stated before this issue started a couple of updates ago and has nothing to do with renaming or changing a folder name as far as I know. It has to do with moving one file link into another links folder. I was able to do this for ages until a few updates ago on any Mac OS system but, not any more.

PS I have no issues with Drag and Drop on my current Mac OSes and this issue you are thinking about is a later issue with later OSes like OS 14 + and later Java as far as I can see atm the earlier issues were fixed years ago with earlier MacOses

See attachment as an example of a link i wished to move from one to another but couldn't

@Statter: there has been zero changes to table/table model.
I can offer a live Teamviewer session so we can check this together, contact us via support@jdownloader.org
What happens when you select and then drag/drop? does drag/drop action start at all?

Interesting after the latest update just now, everything is working normal now. The links are actually being placed in the proper order again and I was able to move the srt to the correct link folder again!

So whatever was fixed with the previous rename/change folder you all fixed within the last day or so, apparently had fixed my issue also it seems for now. So no need for any Teamviewer atm either.

Thanks for finally allowing updates when I woke today.
