Default JD2 does not remember passwords set in the linklist

I had this issue on several pcs:
If i set a password in the linklist, jd asks me after the download for the password.
Is this a known problem or is a log needed?

It does not appear in the download list after I started the download.
Then I am asked again after the download it is saved in the list.

Jiaz indicates that password will save after successful extraction. I don't use this addon myself, but Jiaz says its works as intended.

You must remember that pre download password != archive password
Its used for password protected downloads within the pre download process on the hoster side.

But in the old JD I could set the archive password. Why is this function changed what way or is it still possible?
