Default Setting priority doesn't seem to be doing anything (packages and files)

The scenario:
package A downloads at 50kb/s;
package B is added, starts downloading at maximum speed allowed by my connection;
package A's speed starts floating in the range of 10-50kb/s.

Even though I've assigned the highest priority to package A, and lowest to package B. I tried setting priority for both packages and files individually.

As far as I understand, the expected scenario would be something along the lines of Jdownloader reserving its maximum speed for package A, and giving everything else to package B, but it clearly doesn't work like that.

And the second part of the issue is that there's no visible indication of which priority is selected for given file or package.

Is this a problem on my end or the feature is not really functioning?...

maybe a failing on how the function works? priority has nothing todo with reservation of speed, its a decision making process on which downloads to start next.

so once possible download candidates are evaluated it will start the highest if possible and work its way down. Taking into account max sim dl stated within plugins code & user preference with advanced settings, it will progress the next download accordingly.

there might be a functions to prevent given downloads from being robbed of speed, but its some time since I looked into this, please wait for Appwork to respond

Hi,
Tmeter could do the trick apparently, for free and under Windows.
Search for an article entittled "How to Set Upload and Download Limits for Windows 11" **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** which explains the procedure.
From what I understand, you would probably need to execute JDownloader as a second instance (see https://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=87400 for that).
