how to change download directory without moving content?
how to change download directory for a new copy of files without moving content?
none of the current download folder structure should be changed, I just want to re-create a NEW one of nearly 70'000 folders with nearly 3mio of images... I can also create a copy but not move content? my idea is to be able to continue with current structure, but also have a new structure... regards |

is there any chance to create a copy of all files for new folder structure but keep the old files with its old folder structure? is there any chance to have that option "Settings > Advanced Settings > GeneralSettings.movefilesifdownloaddestinationchangesenabled" also for COPY not only for MOVE? @jiaz |

@verheiratet1952: This setting tells JDownloader not to move the files if you change the location.
There is no setting/support to copy the files/structure. you could create a copy/backup/archive of your current structure and then change it? Why keep the files twice? Or maybe I still don't understand your use case?

the reason why I want to keep the files twice: a) too many files/folders (nearly 3mio files in nearly 70'000 folders) b) JD is great for having no duplicates c) at about 15% of files that was downloaded are no OFFLINE and cannot be downloaded a second time... d) downloading nearly 3mio files once again takes very very long, it is about weeks... by the way: for me COPY not only MOVE is a main feature... I cannot use MOVE that would break my current structure... and I cannot diable that option NOT to move the files... I was also thinking about to save 'downloadlist zips' for cfg folder, and then use previous version with old structure, but that does not work because download directory changes or is not changed... (by the way: I use saving downloadlist zips for different projects, works great) |

@verheiratet1952: I'm sorry but I don't understand? I was asking why keeping the files twice = why keep/store 6 mio files if there are 3 mio duplicates?
Maybe I still don't understand what you are trying to achieve? Quote:
https://board.jdownloader.org/showpo...00&postcount=2 It doesn't make sense to copy the files from A to B and then have the same file twice on disk?!

I have to keep the old current structure of downloaded files/folders to avoid duplicates for my websites... (here not talking about duplicates within JD)
current structure of downloaded files/folders are being grouped and uploaded... that is why I cannot change the current structure... I just want the same content, that has been already downloaded in a new files/folder structure as a new copy... Quote:
