Jdownloader2 BETA using 20 GB of VIRT Mem
I am using JD2 BETA and it allocates large quantity of Virtual memory.
I have read the posts, it is true that I keep a large number of links, but I still DO not understand how the tree/file-list need such a large quantity of "information". I mean: lets say that I have 5000 files, 20 GB means that for each file I use 4 MB (for what? name of the file, link, referring link.., I could think that few kB would be quite enough). I have still JD installed and even with more links the virtual memory is a factor of 6 smaller (3.5 GB). I am running on a Linux host java version "1.7.0_95" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (rhel-2.6.4.0.el6_7-x86_64 u95-b00) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.95-b01, mixed mode) How may I reduce the size w/o removing the links? I do not remember exactly, but I think that the needed-memory-size has not increased in the last 5-6 months, but the number of links has... best regards |

There have been no changes in internal structures. Also virtual memory highly depends on many system/kernel settings. eg memory address randomizer causes higher virtual memory sizes There is nothing to worry about and even high virt memory is nothing bad. our mongo service has about 900GB virt memory
If you want to know about memory usage, open the About Dialog of JDownloader and it will show 3 numbers. Those are: current heap usage, current heap size, max heap size
