everything suddenly corrupt?
For some reason the last 4 downloads I made all ended up with corrupted un-extractable files. This seems like a strange coincidence given that Jdownloader is usually more stable in that department. Four in a row is a lot, given that the 4 came from different uploaders, were downloaded from different hosts, and I tried extraction with 3 different programs.
What should I be looking at or checking? I really don't want to re-do any 80 part archives–that's a lot of captchas to fill in! The problem seems to be a checksum error with all 4 of them. Can this problem be stopped? Can these "corrupted" files be fixed? Thank you. OS 10.6.7, JDownloader 0.9.581 Last edited by Jiaz; 03.06.2011 at 10:57. |

I recommend to :-
1) Allow java and javaw in your firewall and virus software. Disable (or un-install) the html/web download scanner in your virus software. 2) Reduce the Max.Con. setting (bottom right corner of jD window) to 1. Reset the affected links. If this doesn't work please provide a complete and detailed log. |

when does the error happen? what message does exactly happen?
iso images inside rar archives cause issues and can show wrong *crc error* messages. you must extract iso images yourself. this issue is fixed with next major update. screenshots/logfiles can also help us to provide further help to you

Thank you to both of you for your input.
Yes, these are indeed ISO images, and I have tried extracting them myself, in multiple programs. The error is always the same: a checksum error (2). Since my original post I have had 3 files unarchive without a problem–I have also had 2 more fail. I will reset my number of connections to 1 and see if that helps though I'm not sure it will because a number of the downloads have been through non-account sites, and they only allow one connection anyway. I will try none-the-less. I don't think I'll be able to do the log though. Thank you again. |

iso images better extract yourself
also check your harddisk/memory/system. the crc errors are not caused by jdownloader. they are either wrong error message (iso images in jdownloader) or caused by faulty hardware/drivers

@chico
If you keep downloading corrupt files after you've applied all recommendations, you can also un-install your virus software and reboot your computer. Does the extractor you use indicate which archives are corrupt? Do the archives have any recovery information or files? Example links can help determine whether the files are corrupt on the server or whether it's a problem on your computer/network. |
