Startup error
I've been using JDownloader 2 since last year. Today I tried to start the program as usual when I got the error below:
Quote:
Any idea about how to fix this? I would like to recover the download queue with all the links. |

Close JDownloader. Delete Core.jar and tmp and update folder. Download http://installer.jdownloader.org/JDownloader.jar and place it in your JDownloader folder.
Then it should work fine again. Can you please zip your logs folder and send to support@jdownloader.org, so we can check this

Thank you very much for your reply. I've followed the steps above. I was then able to start the program, but the dowload list is completely empty. Any way I can get back the links on my download list? This was my main concern from the beginning. I don't know why these disappeared since actually I didn't remove any file from the computer. I didn't remove the tasks from the list through the JDownloader interface either. Any helpt concerning this matter will be much appreciated.

DownloadList/Settings are not touched by this. check your cfg folder for any downloadList zip files or backup files?

The cfg folder has several downloadList files inside. Checking the date, all the files are from before this issue happened.
I have noticed that, after completing the steps in the first reply, a new folder has been created. The folder is named .jd home and it has its own cfg folder inside. There are no downloadList files inside this one. Also, if I change anything in the program interface, the folder that gets updtated is this new one. I don't know to which extend this information will help understand and solve the problem, but I hope it does. Thank you for the assistance. |

Did you place JDownloader.jar in your existing JDownloader folder? To me it looks like a new/other installation and not working in your existing folder.
You can close JDownloader and copy over your old cfg folder (remove new/emty one first)

The issue has been solved.
Let me make a summary just to clarify what happened. I followed the steps in your first mesage: I deleted Core.jar and tmp folder (I just realized that I didn't delete "update" folder (I thought you were asking me to update the folder)). I downloaded the file linked and placed all the contents in the program folder. Notice that what I downloaded was a bunch of folders and files, and that there was no "JDownloader.jar". After that, I started the program. Jdownloader Updater launched and started downloading some updates. When this finished, a new folder was created and the program was launched from there, ignoring the old program folder with all the settings and download list. So, after reading your last message, I did this to solve the problem: I copied "JDownloader.jar" from the new installation folder and placed it in the old folder. Then, I removed the new installation folder from the computer. I launched JDownloader again and, after updating once more, the program opened from the old installation/folder with all the previous settings and download links. Thank you very much for following this case and helping me. |
