Hi! thanks for answer, that guide is valid also if I'm running JDownloader on the Synology NAS?
It appears to be not super simple, have you some suggestion for me?

@didibang: yes, add account and username=e-mail and password= cookies string exported via browser extension. Just follow the article, it's explained pretty straightforward

Don't know if this is a bug or intended behavior, but when I try to add this link **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** and click on "Channel" button, LinkGrabber only adds videos from "Videos" section of that channel. It doesn't add videos from "Releases". I tried both "Profile crawl modes" and it didn't make much difference, I got few more with "Playlist 'uploads of user'", but it still didn't have every upload, for example on Releases there is "SaturDay Night" album with 6 song, all uploaded by him, but they are not in initial channel's linkgrabber's scan.

Wow, I did it and it works perfectly! Thanks, you made some crazy work with this JDownloader. It's awesome.

Just one weird thing: after I added Youtube hoster with cookies, JD shows this popup:

Quote:
GOOGLE LOGIN - ADDITIONAL COOKIE LOGIN INFORMATION
!!! IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT GOOGLE COOKIE LOGIN ! ! ! We recommend not to use the same Google session/cookies which you've just entered in JDownloader in your browser! If you ignore this recommendation, the cookies in JDownloader may expire within a very short time. We recommend creating a separate Google session in a private browser window or separate browser profile which you are not actively using afterwards!
I already had YT logged out in that browser window, while I kept open the incognito window in which I logged in YT. Anyway I clicked OK and it worked anyway... it's ok?

--

Also I'd like to report this other thing: after I add link (of any hoster) it doesn't appear in the Linkcollector tab. I always have to switch to another tab (example, Downloads) then back to Linkcollector tab and then I see the link. Is it normal?

Thanks!

@zdzichu476: but videos should contain all videos released on this channel and *releases* are just bundles/playlists of those? maybe they are no longer part of videos once moved to releases. we will check this.

@didibang: this is just a reminder about this, JDownloader doesn't/cannot know what you did/how you exported the cookies.

Have you verified that linkgrabber was *ready*? in lower right corner there is indicator icon that is showing up while linkcrawler is working. have you waited for this to finish?
If yes, then please create a log, see https://support.jdownloader.org/de/k...d-session-logs
I'm not able to reproduce this, can you provide example links as well?

I think "Releases" are a separate thing, but you need to be an audio artist (have that musical note after your name) to even use them.

Hi
4k videos are not captured by linkgrabber. It only captures 1080P. Seems to be an issue since 3-4 days ago. An example is **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

Hey. When trying to download video from YouTube the resolution will reduce to minimum for no apparent reason.

When the 1080p 'varient' is clearly selected and the size estimated at ~10mb, the frame that the start button is clicked the estimated size drops and the quality variant is set to near minimum (All of this shown in the video).

This only effects some videos and I can't see a pattern between the ones that it does and does not effect.

Is this a bug, or is this an ID-10-T error code?

Thank you.

With next update JD does support the /releases page as well, but you will have to manually copy that as I have not decided yet if/how selection setting should look like in JD.

seems to be a 100% now on my end. i've been careful not to download a ton so i don't get some sort of weird youtube throttling, but for a day and a half now i always got the resolution i'm asking jdownloader2 to download, no longer only 360p like the weeks before today. thank you again for all the work you do.

@boronunu: cannot reproduce here, please make sure you have installed all updates and also check Settings->Plugins->youtube.com , in doubt reset the settings, maybe you have disabled codec/resolution or something. In case it still does not work, please provide a debug log, see https://support.jdownloader.org/de/k...d-session-logs

@markifi: Thanks for the feedback!

@zdzichu476: with next update /releases will be supported but you have to explicit add the link as current handling only checks for videos/shorts section. need to discuss with team if/how setting could be changed for this

@Ignominia: example link would be very helpful. please provide a debug log, see https://support.jdownloader.org/de/k...d-session-logs

Hi Jiaz
I did a completely new installation in a different computer and yes the new installation catches the 4k video. So I reset my settings and did a side by side comparison of everything in the plugin screen. They're exactly same. But when I right click on the link and select "Choose a variant for 1 video link/s" they show different screens. The one that does not show 4k has this

**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

And the new installation shows this

**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

Does this help you in any way? Build versions are exactly same. The new installation is in windows 10 and the one I'm complaining about is Windows 11. I'll post the logs if that is what you need

N.B. There's no personally identifiable information or youtube link in the screenshots

Something to note, which I'm not sure is reproducable but might be an issue. I've been watching a Let's Play series that I downloaded, and for 5 or so seconds in one video, the video was stuck. I checked the video on youtube to see if it was like that and it wasn't.

On re-downloading the video it downloaded properly. I don't know if this is because of changes youtube are making, but it's a bit disconcerting for a video to download and miss some of the video itself.

@boronunu: Thanks for the feedback

@Xirix: it can be anything from connection issues, hardware error (damaged file on disk), hardware error (memory issue) or broken file on yt mirror x while redownloading from fine mirror y. JDownloader only downloads the file as it is, so can't tell what the cause actual was

Fair enough, this is literally the first time it's happened in years of downloading, so hopefully it is just a rare error.

Default "Temporarily Unavailable"

**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

Might be exactly what the wording states, but I can watch the video through YT just fine. Despite all the issues that went on last week or so, I have been downloading several YT videos since with no issues. I am using the latest/updated version of JD2. If it is just temp unavail then no biggie, but bring it up anyway just in case. Thanks!

@enjikari: you have to login with yt in JDownloader with cookies method, see https://support.jdownloader.org/de/k...n-instructions
and might currently be broken/unreliable due to all changes going on

Sorry Jiaz, I should've added that note too, I suppose.. I am logged in via cookies method. As stated, I have downloaded many videos before that and after. Seems to be just this video.

With the changes going on, I'm down to just bide my time. Moreso bringing it to you folks in case THAT video's code/whatever (I know nothing on this) helps figuring things out while YT "brings out the big guns", lol.

Default Download from youtube in .webm

Hi,

I'm trying to download a video from youtube in .webm format as I've heard this is youtubes container and offers the best quality. When I add the link in jdownloader I get the video in.mp4 and audio in .m4a.

Is there a way to download in .webm which would also provide the audio in .opus?

Thanks,
Pete

@peter762033: webm is just a container and you can also use mkv. what is important is the codec in use. normally webm should be available in variant selection or customize plugin to your needs in Settings->Plugins->youtube.com and there you can heavily customize the plugin. webm should be available normally

Hi Pete.

I cant tell the difference in sound quality between any of them so I end up shutting down all the other video file format variants except MP4 in the YT plugin settings since the other formats dont run good on some of my older equipment.

Sometimes webm and MKV files sneak by but I delete them and redownload in MP4 only.

Take care..

Default Download "time markings" from Youtube videos

It would be nice if JDownloader could download the time markings (AKA timestamps, chapters, titles, topics, etc.) of Youtube videos in the format below:

Exemple from the Youtube video:
v=YtedFWIAQd4

CHAPTER01=00:00:00.000
CHAPTER01NAME=Intro
CHAPTER02=00:00:20.000
CHAPTER02NAME=Stamp On It
CHAPTER03=00:02:42.000
CHAPTER03NAME=Get My Mind Off
CHAPTER04=00:07:14.000
CHAPTER04NAME=Stuck on You
CHAPTER05=00:10:40.000
CHAPTER05NAME=Did Nobody Ever Love You?
CHAPTER06=00:13:11.000
CHAPTER06NAME=Kiss (Prince cover)
CHAPTER07=00:17:53.000
CHAPTER07NAME=Wilderness
CHAPTER08=00:20:05.000
CHAPTER08NAME=Nobody's Child
CHAPTER09=00:24:09.000
CHAPTER09NAME=So Damn Dangerous
CHAPTER10=00:27:13.000
CHAPTER10NAME=Oh Well (Fleetwood Mac cover)
CHAPTER11=00:30:32.000
CHAPTER11NAME=Red Button

With this time stamp format above, it's possible to create MKV files with chapters with the MKVToolNix app:

If possible, it would be even better if Jdownloader could download Youtube videos with the timestamps (and with the name of them) already inserted in the downloaded file.

Merged YT threads.

@tafreire
Chances of this happening are very very low. It has already been requested in the year 2020, see:
https://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=85877

I recommend using other tools that might be able to do it e.g. the free and open source project "yt-dlp".

I've found an issue in the youtube plugin.

By default, the video format is:
Code:
*3D* *360* *VIDEO_NAME* (*H*p_*FPS*fps_*VIDEO_CODEC*-*AUDIO_BITRATE*kbit_*AUDIO_CODEC*).*EXT*
I want to add before it the date, then a space, then the rest of the name:
Code:
*DATE[yyyyMMdd]* *3D* *360* *VIDEO_NAME* (*H*p_*FPS*fps_*VIDEO_CODEC*-*AUDIO_BITRATE*kbit_*AUDIO_CODEC*).*EXT*
But this code really inserts two spaces, so to have one space I have to leave no space between date and the rest:
Code:
*DATE[yyyyMMdd]**3D* *360* *VIDEO_NAME* (*H*p_*FPS*fps_*VIDEO_CODEC*-*AUDIO_BITRATE*kbit_*AUDIO_CODEC*).*EXT*
With the audio, image, subtitles, etc. does not happen. Can you confirm?
