[NOT a JD bug] rapidgator file resume broken?
I've noticed a number of rapidgator downloads that I was doing die and restart and instead of resuming the download from where it left off, it restarted from scratch.
as the rapidgator hoster plugin hasn't changed, and I only noticed this after I updated (after a long time) my jd2 instance, I'm wondering if something broke in jd2? 21.03.20 10.20.49 <--> 21.03.20 17.44.21 jdlog://2557715302851/ |

Rapidgator does not allow resume for some files for unknown reasons. Before the recent plugin update, JD would never be able to "resume" these files automatically and would display an error on try and waste your time and let you solve unnecessary captchas. JD does now try again with disabled resume on purpose. You can easily verify this via browser by trying the same files there. This is NOT a JDownloader bug but a serverside limitation- or bug by rapidgator. Please contact their support if you want to get more precise information or a fix, in case this behavior is not desired by rapidgator. Your log also shows issues with your proxy / network issues btw. -psp-

yes, I know my proxies are unreliable, but in the past I was able to resume, even on these files. Going to experiment with an older version of the plugin and see what happens (I keep an archive of everything), though I tend to trust you on this.

Please also note that we will not provide support for issues happening because of using older plugin versions! -psp-

just replacing the old plugin didn't work at all, as it seems something changed so it now throw a plugin defect error.
I know I was able to resume a week ago, though if its only for some files, perhaps I'm being unlucky right now. will experiment more when I get a chance |

As said, you can simply check it via browser --> Same results.
Also as said: You could contact the rapidgator support and ask them if they do this on purpose --> If not, they might even fix it This is not any kind of issue/bug with our software! -psp-

i understand, just wondering if its random (ii.e. some servers don't play nice, but others do) or once a file is tagged as not resumamble, it just wont work.
i.e. there seems to be a lot of randomness with rapidgator, sometimes I can only download for free at 50kbps, sometimes at 70 and sometimes at 100. |

Let's say it is a rapidgator bug:
Then in theory, resume could work after retrying X times. ... but for every attempt you would have to wait- and enter a captcha. In case you find anything out: Let me know - I'am willing to add extra plugin settings for such cases but they way it is now is how it is supposed to work fine for most if not all of our users -psp-
