Default [-] [+] problem

I'm sure I used to do this but I can't now, I put the cursor over the 2 brackets [-]or [+] and click the left button and that would expand or close the whole text to the bottom, BUT NOW it only close or opens that one package, not the whole lot. what am I doing wrong?

Can you please explain what you mean by "that one and not the whole"
It's normal that you can expand/collapse only the current package. If you want to do this action on multiple packages at once, additionally hold the ctrl key

if you want to expand or contract packages on mass you need to also hold onto CTRL and left click, else (with left click only) it only does the current package
