About the JD2 suggestion ... well, every time I report an issue, the same response is given: use JD2.
However, JD2 gives me (others) various problems. You can search other forums to read why other JD fans are not willing to upgrade. I'm not sure why JD developers STILL prompt others to upgrade to JD2 despite all the criticism? Other than a possibly VALID excuse: that JD (orig.) is too difficult to modify (too much work writing code). If this is the reason, please say so in order to avoid confusion. We understand that the JD project is free/open-source and JD developers owe the user base nothing. Expect when you lose trust and reputation and respect ... open-source/non-profit/free or not, those attributes are priceless. And you won't them back once a viable JD alternative is avail. So, don't wait too long to update JD (orig.) or provide acceptable excuse and back that up ... "you will need to wait for update to come out, or you can use it now within JD2. No ETA for stable update." ...comments like this will hurt you and mark you as mistake makers and lazy excuse makers and not skilled in their "jobs". The choice is, of course, YOURS!
