"Download Incomplete" still a big problem
Hello,
I have come across couple of "Download Incomplete" threads but they are somehow stopped so I am adding one more little bit more detailed so that this can be solved. steps: 1. I have added 4 http download links 2. maximum downloads are 2 (making it 1 does not help) 3. one after the other "Download incomplete" message appears and JD displays message "Wait <seconds>" and then reconnects. 4. after few attempts it gives up even though ***every time it reconnects it can download few kilobytes*** i.e. it's not a download failure but just inability to keep download active for long time. 5. after it has given up for all the links, I add another (5th) http link . It starts downloading from that after a while gives up even for that. But it does not start the earlier four. 6. Now I delete the 5th link. Use "Resume" shortcut menu for all 4 previous links. 7. Then I add the 5th link again. 8. Now, the first two links start downloading from the point they have stopped - go to the step #1. It looks to me that JD gives up prematurely when it should continue as long as it can download and not after predefined attempts. I have uploaded logs at http://jdownloader.org/pastebin/69633 From the logs it looks as though it has to do something with predetermined number of attempts issue: ------------------------ Thread: 228 ----------------------- 228 1/21/12 1:39:27 PM - INFO [java_downloader] -> 4rounds left to start new downloads 228 1/21/12 1:39:28 PM - INFO [java_downloader] -> 3rounds left to start new downloads 228 1/21/12 1:39:29 PM - INFO [java_downloader] -> 2rounds left to start new downloads 228 1/21/12 1:39:30 PM - INFO [java_downloader] -> 1rounds left to start new downloads 228 1/21/12 1:39:31 PM - INFO [java_downloader] -> 0rounds left to start new downloads 228 1/21/12 1:39:31 PM - INFO [java_downloader] -> DownloadWatchDog: stop If that is correct, is there a configuration option that I can set to make predetermined attempt number infinite? Thanks, -Neel. |

Server or connection problems might explain your issue. The automatic resume feature hasn't been implemented yet.
Can you please provide some example links that I can test myself? Most problems with jD are caused by viruses and to a lesser degree by firewall software. If you can download the files with your browser something is blocking jD. I recommend to :- 1) Allow java and javaw in your firewall and virus software. Disable (or un-install) the html/web download scanner in your virus software. 2) Reduce the Max.Con. setting (bottom right corner of jD window) to 1. Reset the affected links. |

1. done that; no effect
2. try ANY videoweed links. note: my max speed is 20KBps. also do note for non http links it works great so speed is NOT an issue. most importantly I wanted to know why does it give up when it can download little bit every time and if there is any configuration settings to not let it give up. Thanks, -Neel. |

Without example links I can't test it myself.
