[WIN10] JDownloader got removed and cannot reinstall!
I don't know what the hell is going on, but today I was launching JD from my Windows 10 Pro x64 when the OS asked me if I wanted to remove the shortcut because JD didn't appear to be installed in the system...
I thought something got screwed so I simply made some cleaning and downloaded the setup again from your website. Launched the installation, some litle window appeared for half a second and then nothing else... I then decided to extract the EXE with WinRAR and launch GenericSetup.exe manually, got the welcome screen and went off with what it appeared to be an installation in C:\Users\Cr4z33\AppData\Local\JDownloader 2.0, didn't choose to install Avast & Charity Engine, checked "Run JDownloader, pressed NEXT and... the window closed and NOTHING got installed... What can I do now to get JD back please? |

Neither the Java 1.8 nor the Java 11 setups could be installed. I launched the EXE, a little extraction window popped up and it ended up by removing the EXE itself! I thought it was my AV (Kaspersky), but disabling it gave the same result (and it is not reporting anything done). Windows Defender didn't report anything... By the way I am a Windows Insider so maybe some new OS feature is making 'damages'? In the meantime I am using JD using the manual JAR installation method. For a proper test you have to uninstall Kaspersky. You never can fully disable it. That's my personal experience from reports over 10 years of JDownloader support.
Something is killing/deleting the Installer, maybe take a look at windows logfiles. If you want we can take a look via Teamviewer, contact us via support@jdownloader.org
