JD2 not recognizing different files with same filename
JD2 when faced with numerous different files all named (say).mp4, is not recognizing them as different files. Each file has a unique videoid, but when JD2 downloads, it downloads only one file even though there are numerous differnt files.
1. Is this expected behaviour ? 2. Can this undesirable behaviour be fixed in JD2 ? It is rather frustrating since now I have to import the links, then use the "get URL" function to download the files from a different application. Appreciate any assistance |

It's the mirror detection. Since they're the same name, and they're in the same package, they're treated as mirrors. So you either need to change the mirror handling, rename the files before downloading, or put them in different packages. You can change the mirror detection to be more strict on file size, for instance, rather than just on name. Go to Advanced Settings and filter on Mirror to see the settings- I'm not sure you can completely turn it off, though.

Either enable
GeneralSettings.forcemirrordetectionfilesizecheck or GeneralSettings.mirrordetectiondecision to SAFE

mm - spoke too soon. Now getting several instances of "File already exists" when clearly it doesn't. Any further suggestions - it does now at least differentiate between files with the same name. As a workround, I can select the duplicates and download them using the individual videoid with a different program - but not ideal.

Edit, set that setting back to AUTO, and have now set the checksize so will advise on outcome.

File-Already Exists will show up once a file with same filename exists on disk and you've set JDownloader to ask what to do.

@dageeza,
If the videoid is present in the downloads/source URL, you can use 'packagizer' to generate unique file names by adding the videoid as prefix or suffix to the default file names, or even rename it just using the videoid. |

Thanks to all, the key is to catch the dialog box and select rename (remember this for package). If you do this, you do not see the file already exists. Is there a way of setting this as the default option ?
Thanks again all |
