[Solved] Can you support Hotstar Videos in Jdownloader

Hello,

I have been using Jdownloader for almost 5-6 years now and always been a fan of it. The best of em all.

This is a request for Jdownloader team to add support for Hotstar website videos. It is kind of encrypted and nothing works for downloading videos from it.

The only way to have the video from this website is through capturing it which does not give the best video quality.

Can you please check it out and provide a solution soon.

Can you give example links? Seems I cannot open the main website? Is it down or limited to some countries?

Hotstar is owned by Star Network India spread across all regions. They used to upload the TV shows in their Youtube channel.

But now maybe for earning more revenue, they decided to have their own website server and redirecting the links from Youtube channel to Hotstar website. And it sucks really, their server is too slow making it a terrible experience.

I believe this website is country specific as I saw some comments in Google play store for their Hotstar app.

It can be accessed through Indian ip by vpn service.

There is a youtube video showing how they can download the video but it is a confusing and difficult process, I tried it but never was successful.

Good question!!!

I have been abroad but never had the situation to use a indian specific proxy and the ones I have used are the limited and free ones.

Anyway, you can find the below free links and if it works it is well and good.

In Android, we have lot of options but for desktop it is less.

Tried with 2 working proxies but still got this error for every video I tried:
"This content is currently not available in your region."
