A couple days ago, my whole system was running slow. I opened up Activity Monitor and Jdownloader was using 50-70% of the CPU.
I shut down Jdownloader and started it again, and it immediately shot up to 30% of CPU usage, and would spike up to 50-80% as soon as I tried downloading anything. I restarted the machine, let it sit for 10 minutes to make sure everything was fully booted, then opened JD again. Same problem. I tried updating JD. No updates available. I uninstalled JD, then re-installed it. Same high CPU usage. Tried updating the newly-installed JD. No updates available. Please help! Thanks in advance! iMac (27-inch, late 2013) 3.4 GHz Intel Core I5 24 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 JDownloader Build Date: Fri Dec 15 20:34:34 CET 2017 Java 1.8.0 u 144 (64-bit) |

Please provide a screenshot of your Jdownloader about dialog.
What MacOS Version are you using? Did you change your keyboard repeat rate? We got similiar reports where high cpu usage can be caused by changed keyboard repeat rate.

Hi Jiaz,
Is this inherently the nature of JVM? For instance, with several programs running, my 5950X hovers around 50-55W. Even with downloading apps running (JD not running). But with JD running, and even with the downloads table refresh interval set to 2500ms, it jumps CPU activity up, bouncing between 5-20% and power consumption bouncing between 60-100W. If I close JD, I'll get back stable performance and barely any spike in CPU % or PWR consumption. Is there instead a way that when downloads are stopped, all JD refreshing or whatever you suspect it is, goes to super low priority? I think the only thing important when JD is idle, is linkgrabber being aware of clipboard so that's the only thing that needs to be reasonably alive. |

I am on Windows 10. Next morning my CPU is 80-90% busy with "JDownloader Launcher". I tell JDownloader2 to exit and it does - but the Launcher says running. I have to use TaskManager to kill the launcher to make the computer useable.
I did NOT recently change my keyboard repeat rate. The most recent change is adding a Logitech GForce gaming mouse. I have attached a screenshot of my "About" screen. |

NOTE: I AM using an old Microsoft Natural Style keyboard. Sometimes it messes up, sometimes FLock decides to turn off. I will switch to a different keyboard as a test.
