Whenever I grab a Youtube Video , I get this error , It came out of a nowhere

I'm not sure what the issue is, but this is the first youtube link I've encountered that will not let me download 1080p and only comes up as 360p, even though 1080p is available for watching on the site.

You compared English normal subtitles with English ASR (= automatic translation).
It is the same in browser.

You can switch to the normal English subtitle version via the "Variant" column.

Jiaz will additionally check why JD did prefer the ASR version over the normal one.

For a few weeks I haven't seen VP8 as a LinkGrabber option on YouTube 360p links. They were, 99% of the time, better in video quality than the H.264 option. I know VP9 is the standard (and 480p hasn't had a VP8 option since 2013), but VP8 remains compatible with more of my devices at this time. Have YouTube completely ditched all trace of it? Actually, I'm noticing some links don't even have a VP9 option.

Yes, taking a closer look, this is correct, I accidentally chose "English ASR".

I was trying to watch the downloaded video in VLC, and the subtitles were popping up at complete random.

Thank you for the current workaround.

Choosing "English" in JDownloader creates a SRT that matches the timing in the youtube-dl "English" VTT.

habe seit heute auch Jdownloader Probleme in Verbindung mit Youtube Links.
Und das unmittelbar nachdem sich heute Java aktualisieren wollte weswegen ich dies auch in Vermutung habe.
Eine Neuinstallation von Java und Jdownloader jeweils brachten keine Änderung auch nach Neustart.
Egal welchen Youtube Link ich nun einfüge... ich erhalte, wenn ich einen beliebigen Link einfügen möchte etwas als Error wie das hier:

und kann von mir auch schon ignoriert werden... hatte wohl damit zwar wohl auch mit dem Java Update zu tun... allerdings wohl auch mit der IP, die dann wohl irgendwie gehämmert hat... beim Querlesen hier mit dem Tipp des IP neu beziehen habe ich das genutzt und das hat dann auch gefruchtet... keine Ahnung, warum das Java Update Jdownloader so in Mitleidenschaft gezogen hat. Trotzdem danke auch hier für den Support

Habs aufgegeben mich hier durchs Forum zu wühlen und mich mit undurchschaubaren Fehlermeldungen rumzuärgern..

Man kann JD2 einfach nur dazu benutzen die Audio und Video files runterzuladen und dann mit ffmpeg einfach selber die Dateien zusammenzuführen..
Das ist sogar noch viel besser da man sich jeden Encoder selber aussuchen kann..

z.B. :

sudo ffmpeg -i testv.dashVideo -i testa.dashAudio -c:v mpeg2video -c:a aac Test123.mp4

JD2 ist sehr benutzerunfreundlich.. wer hat schon Bock so nen Haufen Buchstabensuppe zu Analysieren und am Ende keinen brauchbaren Verbesserungsvorschlag zu bekommen..

Falsch.
Standardmäßig wird JD automatisch (einmalige Benutzerinteraktion notwendig) Ffmpeg installieren und die von dir beschriebenen Schritte automatisch durchführen.

Kann ich nicht nachvollziehen - du machst es dir ganz schön umständlich.
... du kannst auch zB über die JD Profieinstellungen die Ffmpeg commands, die nach dem Download automatisch ausgeführt werden nach deinen Bedürfnissen anpassen
