Default [Re-Install solved problem] Automatic unrar is not working

I am downloading a bunch of rar files from narod.ru. I have set JD Unrar to automatically decompress the rar file, to move the decompressed files to a different drive and folder and to delete the archive after the decompression has been succesful. I have put every single rar file in a its own container (I don't know if that's necessary). After the download has finished, all that JD does is show a message "CRC-Check OK (MD5)", and then it moves on to start downloading the next file. It doesn't start working on the decompression of the last downloaded archive, as it is supposed to do.

The right-handed context menu of both container and file shows:

>> Extras >> Extract Container >> Autoextract = enabled.

When I click on the option [Extract Archive(s)], Unrar starts extracting and does everything it is expected to do. So there doesn't seem to be a problem with the unrar add-in. The only problem is that JD doesn't start autoextracting.

I can't see what I'm doing wrong. I hope that someone can help me to solve this problem, as it is crucial for me to have JD autoextract the downloaded archives to help me save space on the receiving HDD.

In the log the download finished at 15:20:05.

Hi
We don't work on JD1 anymore.
Please check out the JDownloader 2 BETA.
Also, you do NOT have to put every archive in a single package.

Hi, PSP,

You mean this is a known bug in JD1 and the only solution will be to start using JD2?

Greetings,

No this is no known bug, probably something with your configuration is just wrong.
What do you mean by "to move the decompressed files to a different drive and folder"?

Hi PSP,

I mean that I have specified in

Settings > Plugins & Addons > Extensions > JD Unrar > Extract to

a destination folder that is different from the folder where the archive was saved and then to delete the original rar file after succesful extraction. This is essentially a (mediated) move operation, and it is the main reason why I want JD to autoextract the archive. The free space on the (internal) drive where the archive is saved is much smaller than the free space on the (external) drive where the decompressed files will eventually be stored. By automatically deleting the archive immediately after succesful decompression the receiving drive won't suffer from eventually running out of free space.

I don't want to use the large external drive for the downloading operation, as this will probably create too much heat inside the drive, which is the foremost reason why HDD's will eventually crash. My internal HDD has a better, active, cooling system, so that it will probably suffer less from such heat production. Because an extraction operation will take far less time than a download operation, the heat production in the external drive will be much reduced if compared to using that drive for a download operation, which will make constant use of the drive.

Greetings, rockwater

Hm ok
This should actually work so I suggest you to backup yoiur whole JD folder and try a re-installation.
If that doesn't help you can still go back to your old configuration and/or test JD2

Ok
I'll follow your suggestion to try a re-installation. It'll take some time to test it, because the downloads are quite large and the download speed is quite slow. But I'll keep you informed.

Greetings, rockwater

---------------------

Hi PSP,

I've backupped JD1 and then I re-installed JD1 from the web installer into my old JD folder, so all my settings and download links were preserved. JD immediately started to resume the download. So everything was working fine. After about 6 hours the download was complete, and I waited for autoextract to start. And... YES! It did start as it should, the archive was being extracted automatically to my external drive just like it should, and the original rar file was deleted afterwards from the internal drive. So the first test is looking really good. If the next few archives will be treated in like manner by JD I'll be confident that the issue has been resolved by re-installing JD.

Thanks for the help you offered me. And have a nice Christmas!

Greetings, rockwater.

Hi
Thanks for the pronpt response.
Please avoid double posts in this forum in the future

I hope the bug will stay away though as said, even if there was a bug we wouldn't fix it in JD1 because it's only being worked on JD2 till it can be released as a stable version.
