Allow java and javaw in your firewall and virus software. Disable (or un-install) the port 80/html/web scanner in your virus software.

Reduce the Max.Con. setting (bottom right corner of jD window) to 1. Reset the affected links.

Please, use the Edit button of your message if you want to add data to it.

Cool

What is it that you don't understand?

There are Spanish, German, Polish, French, etc. forums if you don't understand English. You can also use web translators.

@ brett1,

I am sorry this is complicated. Let me try to explain.

Most modern security software contains unnecessary features that interfere with normal internet use:
1) A firewall (such as Zone Alarm) is designed to protect your computer from external attack. Control over which programs can write to the internet is only necessary if you already have Malware (viruses, worms, and other nasty programs) on your computer. A firewall should ask before it blocks a program from the internet; if yours does not, uninstall it.
1a) If you have a firewall in your router, you do not need a software firewall.
1b) If you want a software firewall, open up the settings and tell it that jdownloader.exe, java.exe, and javaw.exe are allowed to write to any internet port on any computer and to listen on any local port.

2) Many antivirus programs scan data as it is being downloaded. This can cause data to be changed or connections dropped when the antivirus finds a "signature" it does not like.
2a) The only time that a file must be scanned for Malware is when the file is being opened to execute it. Scripts for browsers or e-mail programs have to be checked within the program - they are unlike executable viruses.
2b) Checking of data while it is being downloaded should be deactivated. It must be deactivated for jdownloader.exe, java.exe, and javaw.exe.

3) Choosing and Installing Security Software contains a list of recommended software that is very secure and does not break JDownloader.
3a) Some people like ESET and it is highly rated. If you search the site for ESET you will find instructions for defanging the program. It is the only security software that is recommended that charges for personal use.
3b) AVG was a recommended antivirus (if linkscanning was not installed), but current versions cause some systems to hang (nothing to do with JDownloader).
3c) I have a lot of experience and I explicitly recommend against Symantec, McAfe, Kaminsky, Camodo, and any "Internet Security" package.

(see Choosing and installing security softwarefor more information)

I'm sorry you didn't understand anything of what I wrote. I hope you now understand more about software that can interfere with jD. Are you running any software firewall or virus software?

Automatic reconnection is a feature that isn't necessary to use the program, but if you want to know more, please read "Getting started with Reconnection".

I don't know what operating system ( Windoze, MAC-OS, Linux ) you're using, but in Windoze you can make a screen shot by pressing the "Print Screen" key. If you press ALT-"Print Screen" you only get the selected window. The screen shot is then stored in your clipboard and you can paste the contents of your clipboard in any graphical application, for instance IrfanView. You can then safe that picture in .jpeg format on your disk and upload it here or on a picture site. If you upload it elsewhere you need to refer to it by using the image [IMG] tags.

A log of the program's operations can be provided following the instructions in "How to provide a complete and detailed log?"

You said that you're still having some problems. Can you try to explain what type of problems? Files that don't download?

For W7 you need to be sure you're using a 32 bits version of the JRE. Execute "java -version" (without the ") in a command window to know more.

The "Program Files..." paths are protected in W7. If you installed jD in one of those directories, please, move your jD folder to a place that isn't protected, for instance to progs\jdownloader, and check whether all protections are removed, also on the sub-folders.

What's the path of your jD folder?

Your avg virus software might still be blocking jD even if it's switched off. I would un-install it and restart your computer.

You shouldn't be using the automatic reconnect feature before you can use jD in normal mode. You can switch it off in jD's toolbar.

If you tried to re-install, then you should know the path.

jD's toolbar is always there.

Are your links in the Download pane?

Did you click on the play button to start your downloads?

If you don't have much experience with computers I would first try to follow a course on learning how to use a computer. There are plenty of them on the web. Probably also in your language.

That path looks OK.

If you're still having downloading problems, please provide a log. A link to the instructions were posted in a previous message of mine.
