Using JDownloader.jar instead of the executable Flashgot FF Add-on keeps opening new instance of JDownloader every time I click on Flashgot link. Since I didn't install JDownloader it is not recognized by Flashgot so I had to add JDownloader.jar as new Download Manager and use it in the path to Executable. Is there a switch I can add after JDownloader.jar to enforce single instance or any other way to prevent Flashgot from opening multiple instances?

We have a switch but to allow multiple instance, as our default behaviour is not to allow it.
I would advise you remove JD outside of program files path, it could be that JD can not save content like a 'lock/port/pid' files. These files are used for various reasons for example, pid file will show the pid number of running program. Modern Windows operating system can heavily protect the program files directories, this is the main reason windows installers install to %localappdata% for windows vista/seven/eight/ten, and %appdata% for xp. raztoki

Just a note. JDownloader needs write permission to its folder and network permissions to communicate between multiple instances to avoid starting a new instance every time
