Default Router & IP Addresses

I am new and don't the vocabulary needed to search for a solution to my problem. Please educate me.

I have tr ied 3 different routers and have had the same result. Here is the scenario.

I have 4 computers connected to a switch which is connected to my ADSL modem.
The switch assigns a separate IP Address to each of the 4 computers.

However, the modem only sends its own IP address to the various download sites.

If computer #1 is downloading a file from Rapidshare all the other computers get the error message "Your IP Address is currently downloading" and gives the IP Address of my modem not the computer making the request.

I want my modem to send each computer's IP Address to the various sites instead of it's own.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Lane

Cool

Your network has one external IP address.

Network switches or hubs basically use the local IP addresses of the computers on your local area network in order to send incoming packets (from the Internet) to the proper computers.

You cant do that. you only have 1 WAN ip (your adsl modem). only one person can download from hosts as free user most of the time. if you want to have more simulatan downloads , then oyu have to buy a premium account or use different hosts on each computer.

Look for a provider who offers accounts with more than one external IP-Adresses. Then you can use one computer for every external IP-Adress
