File exists check before download checks?
Dear JD Team,
I'm trying to complete a fairly large group of files from different hosters. I'm using Mirror Detection Decision: FILENAME, If File Exists Action: Skip the file and On Skip Due To Already Exists Action: Skip File to avoid them overwriting each other, and it seems to work fine. The only problem is that it won't start checking the file for existence until it has enough free credit on the hoster to do the actual download, which in many cases it will never need to use as the file already exists. It also won't check files unless it has an available download slot, so it looks like there a lot of files not downloaded, even thought they already exist and will not be downloaded. Would it be possible to move the file exists check to a place before the hoster credit and/or download slot check? Thanks! MLi |

Hi,
this depends on "how safe" the set filename is considered. In many cases, the "final and safe" filename gets set right before the download is started. To accept "weak filenames" too and allow your wanted behavior, enable the following advanced Setting: Code:
GeneralSettings: Allow unsafe filename for file exists check
