Default JDownloaderExp.exe detected as malware?

Malwarebytes is detecting JDownloaderExp.exe as malware of type **External links are only visible to Support Staff**adware.installcore.
Short bio
Adware.InstallCore is Malwarebytes’ detection name for a family of bundlers that installs more than one application on the user’s computer, usually by combining a popular title with one or more adware programs.

The developer behind InstallCore is ironSource, a company that builds monetization, engagement, analytics, and discovery tools for app developers, device manufacturers, mobile carriers, and advertisers. InstallCore is available for Windows and Mac systems.

Type and source of infection
Adware.InstallCore are often served as updates for popular plug-ins like Java or Flash bundled with PUPs and adware.
Doesn't sound too bad, but I have JD installed on a company-managed laptop and don't want any flags to be raised. Earlier posts mention that the file is used for experimental integration with windows. Is it ok if I remove that file? Jdownloader seems to start fine without it.

InstallCore is one of our bundling providers (Adware that is offered during intsallation), see "Type and source".
Wonder how old your installation must be because that file is old, very old
You can safely delete it and start JDownloader directly or via another launcher. You can als use the clean installer, https://jdownloader.org/jdownloader2

Ok, I've removed that file. I see files in my JD folder as old as 2012 so it's old. I rather not move to a clean install as I like to keep my download history.

You can easily move your history to a fresh JD install.
First backup the "cfg" folder located in your old/current install dir.
You can either coppy the complete cfg folder to your new installation or only linkgrabber list/downloadlist.

Either replace the new cfg folder (replace=delete new one, copy over old one) or use the Import/Backup via window menu
