I have a similar issue that bici-boci has (post #119).

JD shows the progress of the update until 92.71%, I wait for ~5 minutes (see attachment one). Then I "cancel" the operation. Run the updater manually, and that I already have the latest update (attachment two).

log (if it will be necessary):

A new plugin update from rev 140 to 142, a new situation:
An extracting updatepackage dialog running right and left about 71 seconds - 4 hoster plugins updated/added - and again the misleading and unnecessary "You Already Have The latest Versions" dialog, what I have to Close with a click.
Please correct this.

First let me say that my JDownloader works fine, thanks for all the good work on it!

Now to my problem: Since the new update service is used the standalone updater doesn't work any more for me. If I start Updater.jar it spawns a javaw.exe thread that exits silently again after a few seconds. If I start JDownloader Updater.exe it throws an exception that is similar to many others reported in this thread, but not exactly the same:
Code:
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.appwork.update.standalone.Main
	at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source)
	at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source)
	at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
	at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source)
	at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
	at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
	at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
	at com.exe4j.runtime.LauncherEngine.launch(Unknown Source)
	at com.exe4j.runtime.WinLauncher.main(Unknown Source)
	at com.install4j.runtime.launcher.WinLauncher.main(Unknown Source)
Is the standalone updater still supposed to work or is it obsolete now? If it's obsolete, shouldn't it be removed from the file system?

It is obsolete. But some people use it to start JDownloader -> So we cannot just remove it.
IF you do a fresh Installation, there will be no Updater.jar any more

PLease start JDownloader.jar

if this does not work, please join our Webchat for a teamveiwer session

You clicked on manual Update. What behaviour would you expect if there are only plugin updates?

This is what it looks like now:

This is what it looks like now:
No, I didn't do manual update, autoupdatecheckenable is ON, together with doaskbeforedownloadingupdate is ON, etc (see my attachments in this thread). I get questions, whether I want to update, download. Another complaint is that in the new "update rollout" it is not possible to Cancel, only Later possible to postpone the update, and the dialog window too often appears .

The "You Already Have The latest Versions" message - what I got - is confusing - I didn't get the "You are running the latest jdownloader version now" message, maybe this is the new content of the message.

I would expect a message dialog only if the update is not successful, because the updates are usually successful and it's enough to see that the update reached 100% in the previous dialog.
It's irrelevant that it was only plugin update - I can't say that I want only plugin update or program update-everything will be the latest version, as I know: Jdownloader, core, extensions, plugins, etc.

But just now the update works a new way: exits from JD, and no dialog appears.

@bici-boci

Could you PLEASE be a bit less confusing?

There are new options now to

1) Autohide dialog if there are no new updates
2) autohide dialog if there were silent updates (like Plugins)

Do you need anything further?

I disable the autoupdate check. I add a screenshot of my settings.

I think is important to say that I have open JDownloader then I update it manually like I said.

HM. this does not help. I have absolutely no idea how this can happen. Logs look normal.
Can you join our chat for some teamviewer checks?

I added more logs to find the problem the next time it occurs. Please keep on posting errors and give me all details you have.

Sorry I can't find these with update/auto/hide/dialog filters in advanced settings. Are these exist already ? Where ?

Default JDownloader2 startet nach Update nicht

Hi,

Neue JDownloader Version gefunden.

Dann kommt folgende Meldung:

Dann kommt folgende Meldung:
An unexpected error occured during JDownloader Startup.
Please contact our Support for more information.

Danke !

@kmkmahesh

1. Where did you find the link to Updater_Rev1815_Sha10b3e2610e793222deb96bebb4d10cd107161ca706cbbeb8ee86dc3088a4101c.zip?

2. Even if I download this Updater.zip, extract it to a new folder and start Updater.jar - >it works

What did you do exactly. If cannot understand how all of you still manage to get this NoClassDefFoundError

Forget the Updater.jar.
The Updater.jar is the reason for your problem! do NEVER EVER USE IT AGAIN!

Solution:

1. Backup your /cfg/ Folder
2. Delete JDownloader completly!
3. Install JDownloader 2 like explained here: http://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=37365
4. After all Updates are done, Close JDownloader
5. Copy your old backuped cfg folder to the new installation directory
6. Start JD -> Done

After the update (to rev 164) I enabled the new autohide options:
UpdatesSettings.autohideguiifsilentupdatewereinstalledenabled
UpdatesSettings.autohideguiiftherearenoupdatesenabled

The second works well, as I see - no dialog at all after an update.
Will see what happens in other cases.
