So i can try to explain how u get it

You can download it here: Download JDownloader 2
Code:
http://bit.ly/HF8DI8
Install Instructions:
a) Unzip the archive to either a new folder. Alternatively you can make a copy of your previous stable or nightly install folders and extract to that location. The update process will will convert as many of your previous settings.
b) Run "Updater.jar" either by: double clicking, OR right clicking & run with java OR by command line 'java -jar update.jar'. This will download all the required JDownloader 2 files.

Disclaimer: It might contain many bugs - only use it if you have no links/settings/files to lose!, Use it at your own risk.

Requirements: JAVA 6 or JAVA 7.
with my words:

make a folder called "JD2" (e.g.)

extract the zip above in the new folder "JD2"
after that you open teh commandline (cmd) in Windows (with admin rights) (shell in unix ) and type the command to switch in the new folder "JD2"

e.g. (to switch into c:\users\name\JD2)
Quote:
cd c:\users\name\JD2
now click enter and then
Quote:
java -jar updater.jar
need to wait and after all them JD2 beta is in "c:\users\name\JD2"

Personally I wouldn't install JD to (users|doc and settings|program files) or save data there either. Many OS have issues with permissions, and or OS Protections services

Thats true, but under Win Vista/7 u need more often admin rights to save/work under c:\ or c\Program Files\ (then the problem with x86 and x64).

That example should be run easy and with the lowest rights needed.

After All you can move the Folder of JD Whereever u want.

TIP: run JD under the normal program folder of your OS and look for the access rights of this folder if you have any troubles.

@eus
you need to install over the other install folder, that is the only way to convert over. I would recommend shutting down nightly, copying to a new folder then extract update zip to that new folder. run the exe or jar as instructed. That way you can always go back to nightly if you choose.

I made a new folder for testing the JD2 alpha and copied over the database.script and database.properties. The queue got imported fine, but only without the saved passwords. Even those, which JD 0.9581 has added itself (SJ etc.), haven't survived the migration.

Is it possible to export the hoster data (username/password) from 0.9 and import to Jd2, I know it's safed in the Jd folders but I'm clueless where/how to.
