Angry Infinite file downloading loop

Can someone tell me please why recently Jdownloader has been suffering from big bugs that never get fixed despite the frequent updates?

I have lost alot of time and bandwidth because my files keep resetting from 100 to 0% OVERWRITING THE COMPLETE ONES WITH NULL FILES..

Can someone tell me why no one else is complaining about these bugs?
So am i getting a different version of Jdownloader than everyone else or something ?

There have been no major changes but only bugfixes and plugin updates and such. Can you please explain what "big bugs" you are referring to?

How do you expect us to be able to help you with that little/nothing on information? What host are you downloading from? Are you free/premium/multihoster user? Please provide a log, see https://support.jdownloader.org/de/k...d-session-logs
and post logID here. That way we can tell you what is going on and how to solve it.

JDownloader supports several thousand sites/services and multiple combinations (no account, free account, premium account, multihoster account) with one/multiple connection/proxy/vpn
and many many more. That said, issue can be caused by so many different things that it may work perfectly fine for most of users but fail for some others.

Please provide a log and we will be able to help better

The infinite download loop happens with Rapidgator free and Florenfile free AFAIK..
For some reason, regarding Rapidgator, I don’t have issues with smaller size downloads ,
However when I downloaded a 1.2 GB file it looped.. It reached 99.9% then hung for a while
i might have clicked something while i was half conscious (sorry I don’t remember what i did exactly )
I don’t know what i should have done, perhaps I should have copied the file elsewhere while it hung at 99.9%.

Thank you for your support..

@hosa: logs? There have been no changes at all to Rapidgator, nor Florenfie, so issue must be caused by something else. Without logs we can't help at all.

Please post your log-ID here
If your report is about a specific website which JD supports via plugin, please also provide example URLs which can be used to reproduce the issue you are having.
If your report is related to a login specific problem with a plugin supported website, enable debug mode before creating logs, see previously linked instructions.

Bitte poste deine Log-ID hier.

Just follow the instructions and upload your whole session:
https://support.jdownloader.org/en/k...d-session-logs

If you want to upload less logs,Search for all of those containing the domain name of the websites you've downloaded from e.g. search for "*rapidgator*" in the logs folder.

I want you to provide the link to whatever file you were trying to download.
Preferable to the file which failed to download in JD.

Better would be a logID, see:
https://support.jdownloader.org/en/k...d-session-logs

My first guess (without any logs), large file download finishes but firewall/av tries to scan the large file and then download fails due to timeout. And rapidgator free doesn't support resume and hence the download starts from beginning. With log we can tell more

I am not sure what caused the hang because my AV coincidentally it was disabled, also its never was responsible for something like that in the past.
anyway, if it happens again ill make sure to copy the file before its too late, additionally, ive posted the log ID.. It would be nice if JD could automatically rename and create a new file instead of overwriting though..

Please explain that.

JD only overwrites already written files if it restarts an un-resumable download from scratch.
Do you want to keep incomplete files of unresumable downloads? If so, why?

If another file with the same name exists on download-start, JD will ask you what to do by default.
See also: Settings -> General -> If the file already exists

yes, in my case it automatically restarted an unresumable download, which i call a loop.. I want it to keep the incomplete file (99.9%) because more often than not i can still extract the contents and it would be functional as it normally would.

We are not planning to add such a feature.
We will go into details regarding your log later.

If, even once our conversation is over, you want to keep such incomplete files for whatever reason, feel free to do this using external scripts or an EventScripter script.

I have an important update.
I tried to download the same file using Mipony and the same thing happened,
Hung at 99.9 then eventually aborted, i got to keep the corrupted movie file though , this will be fun trying to recover..
Im also not discarding the possibility that the isp may be at fault..

@hosa: Not related to download issues but your log is full or errors indicating that your installation is broken/inconsistent state.
Please see https://support.jdownloader.org/de/k...r-installation
Please also delete the jd/plugins subfolder

From your log

Have you ever tried to download the file in browser? This can be anything from
-firewall/av
-isp
-rapidgator errors
-router issues
