Default Download random files instead of first in first out?

Hi,

I know I sound silly and this setting must be somewhere but I tried with no joy. So can someone kindly tell me if there is a way to set downloads to go random rather than first in first out please?

Please allow the question, but why
You could *randomize* the entries in list, eg via script for Eventscripter, see https://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=70525
maybe ask mgpai for help for such a script

Hi Jiaz,

I knew you would ask me such a thing.

As a free user, I have already queued up 100s of files but the way I see is, it is downloading months old files currently and which means the new ones wont even get a chance before couple of months.

So was wondering if we could have a way of jd2 downloading files randomly so that files get picked and many chances that recent ones also get downloaded.

Thanks for the pointer. I will look into it and if need be will ask mgpai.

Have a good evening.

@reddy.shyam: The solution mgpai came up with is nice and simple and if required can optimized even further but should provide sort of randomness to your downloads
In case you need more random or want slighty different, then just ask again
