Default JDownloader 2 on Synology NAS

Hi team,
This post can hopefully shed some light on the situation.

I've tried to fix this myself and have been unable to do so.

I've been using JD2 on my NAS for two years without issues.

I decided to do a soft reset of my nas for security troubleshooting but did not want to lose my data on my drive.

That was all successful.

However, since I have done this, my JD2 on my NAS which I access through the web, has speed issues on LAN and never goes past 1.4 MB/s, and I'm on a 100 Mbps connection.

I have been using Download Station instead which is a fine alternative but would really like to get JD2 working again. DS is able to go up to 14MB/s on certain healthy files.

I have tested JD2 on two windows 10 laptops, and with just a simple install and no settings changed, can get up to 12MB/s download. When trying the exact same file on the JD2 on the NAS, struggles to go past 1.4 MB/s.

I got this working fine when I first set it up two/three years ago, and have not been able to get it working this time. Have even purchased an SSD to do a clean install of Synoloy DSM with Java and JD2 from this site (https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...s-installation) and (https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...bedded-devices).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks team

Sorry team,
Forgot to add some system details to this.

JD2: Rev: #43630
Java: 1.8.0_212-b04 (32Bit)
Synology: DS 214+ DSM 6.2.3-25426

I don't believe there are speed limits on my current JD2 session. It is a fresh install with no modifications.

Hi,
your issue is probably this.
See also HERE (use google translate).

Short summary:
If it is that you won't be able to do much other than buying new hardware.

Thanks pspzockerscene

Do we know if there’s any decent guides online to try and test the install of newer java versions on the NAS? I’ve found really only one here, but could not really get it working.

Any further help would be appreciated. I’m guessing there are not many guides due to not many having attempted Java 11 or newer on a unsupported NAS device.

Thanks

Nope I don't know of many but because your issue is hardware related, newer Java version can improve the performance but will never fix this issue 100%
