How do you link to a thread starting with a specific post - but NOT only single post
I want to link someone outside of the forum to the start of a conversation on a support thread (so they know why they're having a problem--it's a known problem listed in the thread). But I don't want to link to just the one post in the thread.
They also need to be able to see the posts that come after the initial post which I'm linking to, in order to understand what's going on. How do you do that? Trying to link to a post does View Single Post. What I'm trying to do is make a link that opens the thread at that post, and shows posts after that too. All other forums I've ever used work like that so I'm very confused why I can't find how to do it here. |

vb uses two forms of links that you need to know and understand:
showthread.php and showpost.php thread in entirety https://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=54725 showpost.php as single post https://board.jdownloader.org/showpo...15&postcount=4 (**) https://board.jdownloader.org/showpo...015#post286015 showthread.php complete thread https://board.jdownloader.org/showth...725#post286015 https://board.jdownloader.org/showth...015#post286015 https://board.jdownloader.org/showth...15&postcount=4 (**) ** I would refrain from using this link format as it references a postcount id which can change at any time, For example, Forum admin merges another thread/post in or deletes a post it will change the postcount numbers

Thanks! That second-to-last link showed how to use the post # to do what I was trying to do.
Btw, using the format of the third to last link only works for the first page of a thread. It always loads the first page of a thread, as far as I can tell, so if the post isn't on the first page of the thread it doesn't load the right post. But that second-to-last link format works no matter what, regardless of the number of pages in a thread |

Yes you're right! Forgot to mention that. You need the parameter &page= reference if over 1. Problem is even with that, it might not work due to user defined preference to posts per page, this will be incorrect for people you share the link with whose posts per page are different.
