Default Tray icon black + icon over desktop

Hi all,

I've recently bought a new computer and I'm having an issue with the JDownloader tray icon: It appears as black square in the system tray while an icon appears on the top left corner of the monitor as you can see in the picture below (I removed the middle part of the screenshot for clarity).

My setup is:
  • Linux Mint 21 - Cinnamon desktop
  • Side by side monitors (2560x1440 each)

And below you can see the details of the JDownloader I'm using (apologies for the image, I don't know how to get the information in plain text mode).

Regards and many thanks in advance

@norandom:
what happens when you move tray area to top bar?
what happens when you move desktops position? disable one of them?

maybe same java <-> Cinnamon compatibility issue like
github.com/cryptomator/cryptomator/issues/1079

but more likely this issue
github.com/linuxmint/cinnamon/issues/10830
github.com/linuxmint/mint21-beta/issues/105

I'm sorry but I don't see me finding time to work on this in near future as it requires more major changes to current code and need to evaluate 3rd party projects first to see if they work/how well/how easy to make use of them...

I have the same issue as described above.

It occurs since I upgraded today from Linux Mint Cinnamon 20.3 to 21.

I use only one desktop and one monitor.
When minimized to the tray, the JD icon in the tray is always black and the actual icon is displayed in the upper left corner of the screen.
This is the same for all tray positions (bottom, top, left, right)

I have same JD version as user norandom.
My Java is "Oracle Corporation - Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment - 1.8.0_66(64bit/x86)

@eugenkss: thanks for the feedback. According to my github links, https://board.jdownloader.org/showpo...53&postcount=2
its seems that changes in Cinnamon broke backwards compatibility to trayicon

Siehe die genannten Bugreports
https://board.jdownloader.org/showpo...53&postcount=2
Das Problem muss entweder Mint beheben indem sie alte Legacy Schnittstellen wieder korrekt anbinden oder Java damit es die neue Schnittstelle ansprechen kann.
