Default JDownloader won't start.

Hi,
I recently downloaded JDownloader and installed it to C:\JDownloader and when I try to run the program javaw.exe starts up as a process but nothing happens. No splash screen, no notice, nothing. I'm on Windows 7 64-bit. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas.
Thank you in advance.

When trying to run Jdownloader.jar using cmd I get the error above.

Default Hangs After Update [See raztoki first reply for true fix.]

v 0.9.581. Jre 7u51 x64. Win 7 sp1 x64.
Just updated. On restart splash screen hangs on Start Controller message. Killed in task manager and tried a few restarts. Always hangs. Restored jd folder from image. Started ok. Needed Zippyshare, Hugefiles, Onefichier. Copied the updated class files before restoring.
Started copy/paste test on restored folder.
Onefichier - jd starts and download from host works.
Zippyshare - jd hangs on Start Controller.
Deleted and restored old.
Hugefiles - jd starts and plugin outdated message. Log
http://jdownloader.org/pastebin/122331
For anyone with same problems please remember to save your current queue before deleting/restoring previous version of jd folder. Copying the config folder to another location should do the trick. To restore queue just copy/overwrite back to jd folder.
Have working jd so won't be testing any other updated pulgins.
Thank you.

PS. Updating jd and restoring old zippyshare class works.
Location under jd main folder is
\jd\plugins\hoster\Zippysharecom.class

Download link - **External links are only visible to Support Staff** 12 kb file. Backup queue/jd first and try at own risk.
Old plugin is outdated so while jd will start working zippyshare links will give an outdated message.

Hi,

I just get the same issue here. It happen on Win7 only. I update the Jdownloader in my Win8 laptop and it's fine.

@TS

So you suggest to move old jdownloader folder and then reinstall.
After that just override the new one with the old one ?

@dheophe. Just updated restored folder and hangs again. Left other updated plugins intact and restored old version of Zippyshare class file. Starts and works. Shows 2 updates available but obviously won't update.

Location is
\JDownloader 0.8.9\jd\plugins\hoster\Zippysharecom.class

removed

It's a 12 kb file. Try replacing this first instead of the entire folder. Good Luck.

I already replacee the Zippyshare.class file with the old one and it work.
So it's better to not the update JDownloader until the class file is fix ?

Yes. Jd won't start with new file so stick with old one until it's fixed.

Default "Start controller" problem

Hi.
I started JD today, and a message appeared saying that there were over 200 updates available. I accepted it, JD ran the updates, but when it restarted, the JD logo appeared with the message "Start controller" below, and it stayed there for ever.
I looked for threads concerning this problem in the fórum, and I found one titled "Start controller". In it, user Hily1954 presents the same problema I'm quoting here.
1) Lram32 says that another user says that "deleting the folder hoster (C:\JDownloader\jd\plugins\hoster)" is a solution. I did it, but when I started JD afterward, all ítems in the download list had a plugin error message. So I restored the folder, and when I restarted JD, the "Start controller" problem appeared again.
2) Hily1954 says that he had 3 inactive ftp links in his list, that he "deleted the ftp plugin from the plugins folder" and JD started working again. I've no idea what this means (I'm no expert) so I don't know if it applies to me.
So right now I'm without JD again. Is there a SIMPLE solution to this problem, one intended for non expert users like me?
Thank you very much!

Default Zippyshare.

Previous thread about zippyshare plugin problem is marked solved.
Jd won't start with new plugin so no log possible. Old plugin is outdated.
Where is the solution ? Is it in the next update ?
Thank you.

As always, use JD2 or wait for the updates!

@pspzockerscene there was a zippyshare uodate today. This update causes JD to Hang. That thread was marked as solved with no explanation from your side about why the new zippyshare plugin would cause the entire application to hang on the Start Controller message. Now you say wait for updates to today's update. Please try to provide some answer to the question. If the new zippyshare plugin causes jd to stop working then it is not a host plugin problem it is a bug.
Thank you.

Do you have JD set to automatically update?

If so perhaps it is related to the "Zippyshare class file" problem some users are having after the latest plugin updates.

I'm definitely not a coder by any means ... however I could easily imagine that the "ClassNotFoundException" "ClassLoader<Unknown Source>" in the above log could possibly related to the "Zippyshare class file" problem.

See the following thread for a possible workaround ... http://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=55823

I guess, the problem could be caused by the java version that the users have. JD 0.9.581 requires Java 1.6 and NOT Java 1.7.

Zippyshare plugin revision 24581 03/07/2014 02:58 pm GMT might fix the start problem, but still has download problem, reported in another thread.

close jdownloader, and run jdupdate.jar (found within the installation directory of 0.9 and old NIGHTLY)

this was fixed slightly after updates where pushed, only a few would be effected if they updated within that window.

Ran jdupdate.jar. It updated. Jd works. Zippyshare doesn't.
Thank you.

No you don't understand, since downloading it I haven't been able to start the program at all. It just gives me that error in cmd when testing, and wont show me anything while starting it normally.

^^^ @ ZoraSWE

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling JD ?

* In-fact if I were you, I would simply uninstall, then (re-)download a fresh Installation package and try again from scratch ...

(P.S. If you had already been running JD for sometime ... I would have recommended copying your JD "config" file prior to uninstalling and then replacing the one in the fresh installation with your copy ... so as to maintain all your user data and settings etc.)
