@Remi: Um yeah I've already done that, as I mentioned above.

The emergency logs are attached below.

Try to "Disable Direct 3D Usage".

Your log isn't complete, but this problem might also be caused by a corrupted JRE (java) or jD installation. In this case I would :-

1) Try to download and install jD again.

2) Remove all java and install the update 17 or 21 of the JRE. See "**External links are only visible to Support Staff**.

Default my solution

I removed what I thought were obsolete, old java files.

This was a mistake : )

Jdownloader would not start anymore.

Jdownloader for Windows: this application requires a java runtime environment 1.6.0

This is what you should do;

- Remove Java completely, the conventional way (if possible; add/remove programs)

- Remove folders (program files and under user-folder (show hidden files folder + system folders should be on)

- Use "Windows Install Clean Up" utility and select all related java

- Use JavaRa (raproducts.org/javara.html) and clean up further until nothing remains

- From: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** , download JavaMSIFix (**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**)

- Download Java Runtime Environment 1.5.0
Name: sun java version 5.0.exe
URL: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
Size: 16433280

Install it. For during my troubleshooting, I once got the 1.6.0 solved, only to be greeted with the same error for 1.5.0 run-time error - which I couldn't solve. Only the steps described here seem to solve it.

- Download Java Runtime Environment 1.6.0
Name: jre-6u29-windows-i586-s.exe
URL: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
Size: 17131296

Install it.

All should be done.

Peace ;p

Default fix it yourself by batch : )

Also, from same thread on forums of whatthetech, following code instead of download:

CODE
reg query hklm\software\classes\installer\products /f "java(tm) 6" /s | find "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" > deljava.txt
for /f "tokens=* delims= " %%a in (deljava.txt) do reg delete %%a /f
del deljava.txt
reg delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment" /f
reg delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\wow6432node\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment" /f
