Adding links via new API
Hi
I have a more or less simple script that creates weekly backups of my posts on several different boards, including - if present - attachments. These Im currently downloading via jdownloaders flashgot api, since I can send my logincookies there. Now Id like to switch over to the new jd2 api, mostly because it offers some added functionality that would really simplify my backup script. But am I correct in that sending cookies isnt supported by the new api? Is there another way I could solve this? Thanks |

What features are you using that *simplifies your backup script* ?
There are 3 ways to solve this 1.) add new cookie support for adding new links. either within the link itself or via api method 2.) use existing linkcrawler rules feature that already supports customized cookies. there you can create a rule that matches the urls that you want to download and within the rule you can specify the cookies 3.) add new cookie support for crawljob files (Folderwatch), similiar to 1.) Can you tell me what features you are missing in flashgot api ?

Hi
Its not so much anything missing in flashgot api, I can solve this on my end. If I understand it correctly, I could specify downloadfolder for each link via the new api, but not flashgot api. Atm Im downloading attachments to standard folder with downloadrule to create a new folder for each package with packagename. Then my script pauses until the file exists and moves it to my backup folder. That part I could basically skip if I could specify downloadfolder directly, reducing risk of corruption of files. Also, I dont know if you are planning on keeping the flashgot api? It kinda seems redundant, and Id understand if it gets scrapped at one point. |

Flashgot API also supports specification of download directory with *dir* parameter
Did you try that one? At the moment we don't plan to remove the api because ppl like you are using it for their own tools/scripts
