All offline w/VPN but no connection errors
Good morning! I apologize if I'm asking stupid questions; I'm a little bit new to JD2 support. Es tut mir leid...
I've rebuilt an old Windows 10 system exclusively for downloading and it has a VPN connection on ppp1. I've double-checked that the VPN is working correctly on ppp1 and I've used JD2 successfully with this setup on other systems. On this machine, however, JD2 can't find anything online when bound to the local interface, not even the update server, and it can't even generate a log when bound; it throws an exception. The odd thing is that in the Settings tab, Direct Gateway ppp1 shows no connection errors. I've reinstalled Windows, JD2 and the VPN client a few times each. Any advice appreciated. Thank you very much! (: Log: 19.10.17 00.26.51 <--> 19.10.17 00.28.15 jdlog://9089714015941/ |

I recently worked on IPv6 Support and that broke the *bind to device* support. Will be fixed with next core update later this day. Thanks for the hint!

Update will be live in 5 mins. Would be nice if you can test it. The tooltip in Connection Settings should reveal the public IP (via ipcheck) of the underlying connection.

Wow, so fast! Thank you!
I'm at least getting connection errors now, so I think that's a good step. (: The tooltip shows all zeroes for the IP (000.000.000.000.) It's possible that I have something misconfigured, I suppose, but other applications are working with the VPN. Thanks again! |

Can you zip logs folder again and send to support@jdownloader.org
I think it might have to do with ppp, because there are some native ppp-java network stuff issues. I can also take a look via Teamviewer if you want? Just send me ID and PW to support@jdownloader.org

It's working!
I have no idea what happened, but JD2 updated and it's working fine. I happened to make a bunch of changes in my local RAID arrays (though not to the machine running JD2 and the VPN, so I don't know how it could be relevant,) and I set the PureVPN client to secure DNS to fix an IP leak. If you updated the core, great job, and regardless, thank you so much for all your help!
