Default Place Youtube Files (mp4,m4a, srt, jpg and txt) into 1 sub-folder per "Video"

When I download a group of videos from a youtube channel I get 5 files for each mp4,m4a, srt, jpg and txt. I have selected subfolder by package in the browse dialog box which puts all the files (5 for each actual video) into one folder, is it possible to put the 5 files into a subfolder within that folder automatically at the time of download so I don't just have one folder with a ton of files but rather one folder for the channel and subfolders for each video that have the 5 previous mentioned files in them?

Thank you in advance

Sorry, I placed this in Host Plugin Reports by accident, how (can) I move it to the general discussion section?

Hi,

sure that is possible.
It was requested already some time ago.
Basically you'd put the name of the channel(or playlist) in the package, then use a packagizer rule to set the final download path as far as I can remember.

Thanks, I will have to look up how to use the packagizer, unless anyone else has other ideas.

Did you move the thread for me? Thanks if so, can I do it myself or is it only for managers?

I've moved the thread.

I've asked our other staff what the other solution was and also we're currently working on fixing other YT issues - without that bugfix, the packagizer solution won't work anyways.

Hi again,

I was unable to find the previous rule but actually what you want is much simpler - especially if you got the default packagizer rule "subfolder by packagename" enabled:
1. Go to Settings --> Plugins --> YT--> Scroll all the way down and change "Customized packagename" to this:
Code:
*CHANNEL*
Screenshot:

Now when adding YT URLs, all files of one channel will always go into one package.

2. Make sure that in Settings --> Packagizer, the default rule "Subfolder by packagename" is activated.

If you do not want to have a subfolder by packagename for other websites than youtube, you can of course do more adjustments to these rules until they fit your needs.

Thank you very much, that's helpful. The challenge is that some Channels have more than one video, and the channel name a lot of times doesn't help identify the video inside of the folder.

Ideally I could just name the subfolder the same name as the video Title, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that, hopefully the fix you mentioned will make it more obvious to me.

***** Stop the press******
I just realized I just have to change the Customized Packagename to "TITLE" and it does exactly what I want.

You rock my friend, I have a cross country trip coming up and I wanted to have some well organized audio files to listen to as I drive for school, thanks a ton.

I appreciate your help and time.
