Default Cannot expand items using [+] and mouse on macOS Sierra

1. Cannot expand items using [+] and mouse on macOS Sierra
Workaround: use the keyboard right cursor key to expand it.

2. Hyperlinks cannot be single clicked to launch browser
Workaround: quickly double click hyperlink

Can you please provide a screenshot of the about dialog of JDownloader.
Do you have a mouse with 2/3 buttons or using an older mouse with rightclick hack?

Only real differences I can see between your setup and mine,
I have laptop,
and I use mouse over Synergy (mouse/keyboard sharing software and I use it from windows machine)

Can you check with another mouse? Googled and found that Magic Mouse does some *magic* and apps can have issues with that. For example left/rightclick works *little bit* different. So would be good to confirm if the magic mouse is the cause or some setup.

I know that some mouse hardware can have issues with left/rightclick because I encountered it myself in several Teamviewer sessions.

Interestingly, a USB mouse works fine.

I've been using jD for years and my Magic Mouse worked fine with it up until very recently.

The only thing that have changed:
- OS upgraded to Sierra
- jDownloader always on latest public version

The strange thing is that once in a while the click will register. And it seems to only be some widgets I have problems with?

Here's another video.

In the video you can see that the [+] expander is problematic, and the disclosure arrow next to the Image variant. Both of these can be expanded with my USB mouse, but not my Magic Mouse. All other widgets I tried reacted as expected to mouse clicks.

Are these two implemented differently in some way in the code of jDownloader?

Could we do a teamviewer session next week? Then I would add some more debug code so we can check this out together and hopefully find a fix for it.
The issues I've found is that the magic mouse (driver/tool) is sending different *click signals* than *normal* mouses.
Just contact me next week under support@jdownloader.org and lets do a teamviewer session. okay?

Seems the issue is related to movement of the mouse during click.

USB mouse is less sensitive so is generally OK (not 100%)

Mighty Mouse is more sensitive so jDownloader is very prone to dropping clicks

Mighty Mouse on different surface - to reduce sensitivity - can be better (but still not 100%)

I just heard from well connected Mac developer that this is a known Sierra regression. So I guess it's Apple's bug to fix.

Thanks for the feedback. I also thought this because there have been no changes on our side and not everyone seems to have this issue.
Do you have any readable source of information? maybe a link to a post/forum...

Default problems with the interface

Hi

I recently installed the latest macOS Sierra, performing a clean install of the OS and all my software, including jDownloader2.

Since then I have a problem with the interface in the downloads-tab and linkgrabber-tab. After copying several links they arrive in the linkgrabber-tab. Next the folder containing several links, we have the (+) to open the folder and see the links.
When I click on it, it doesn't open it.
The same problem persists in the donwloads-tab.

Anyone a solution, whats going wrong.

thanks

Regression in Sierra. Magic mouse causes issues. Normal USB mouse works fine

I'm sorry but there is nothing we can fix. This is caused by a regression in sierra. Nothing changed on our side and by using another mouse (eg usb mouse) it will work fine

I have had a great improvement simply by using a new surface for my mouse. Some call it a "mouse mat", or recently a "gaming surface". I am quite shocked by the results!

My old surface was worn and somewhat shiny in places. Perhaps this causes the mouse to report too many small movements?

So, yes, they changed something in Sierra but you can mitigate it to a large extent by using your mouse on a better surface. It's not perfect but it is much, much better.

Thanks for the feedback! All we know is that something has changed and mouse events are more *sensitive* than before and that causes the *drag/drop/selection detection of java* to falsely detect this instead of normal click.
Contact me at support@jdownloader.org and I can provide you an installer for mac with newer java version for you to test. Maybe it was an issue that already got fixed. Check about dialog of JDownloader and tell me what version is shown of java
