Default [NO JD ISSUE] Quick Launch icon

When I installed JDownloader, one of the options was to create a Quick Launch icon, which I left checked. However, it's not there. Is there any way to add it to the Quick Launch area (Win 8.1)?

Please use Google for that as it is an OS specific problem - I'm sure you can manually add your own quick shortcuts to Win 8.

You're right in that I discovered that I could pin it to the Taskbar.

You're incorrect when you assert that it's not a JD issue. JD installation offered to create a Quick Launch icon, but didn't do it.

Could you add another point to the ticket? After I pinned it to the Taskbar, I found that when I clicked on it to start it, it created a second icon in the Taskbar to represent the running program. It disappears when JD is exited. No other program in my Quick Launch area does that. They all make use of their permanent Quick Launch icons.

I'm not sure what you mean. JD comes with its own installer.

As far as I know, Windows 8 has no real quicklaunch area.

It's true that I haven't found any reference to the Quick Launch area by that name - rather there's an option to pin items to the Taskbar - but in practical terms, it functions as a Quick Launch area. The items pinned to the Taskbar automatically appear as icons in the classic Quick Launch area when Win8 boots, and clicking on them once starts their associated programs.

Quick Launch: %appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\
Right click on Taskbar>Toolbars>New toolbar...
I have quick launch on w8.1
also my JD2 works on pinned icon (no 2nd item when jd launch(JDownloader2.exe).but sometimes 2nd item with restart command(javaw.exe))

My version of JD is 0.9.581. Maybe that's why I'm getting a second icon?

coalado, may I respectfully suggest that you reopen the ticket, as maynak00 has confirmed that there's a Quick Launch area in Win8.1?
