I've been using JDownloader2 for the last few years. I use it a lot and have downloaded thousands of files each year. I have never gotten a CRC error.

I didn't realize until today that there's an option to turn off CRC checking. Can I simply turn it off to save time?

You can disable it in Settings-Advanced Settings-GeneralSettings.hashcheckenabled
but I wouldn't do it. I prefer to know the files are good vs saving a few secs.
