Hi JD devs.

For me, the locaiton setting was being saved OK, but there was a problem at tha time of merging and the ffmpeg process failed (so then JD asked for path again for some reason)

Since last update, everything is working fine. Good job guys.

Well, sorry, I am freaking it out. I had four videos stick because of that problem. Two of them downloaded and merged OK today, so I posted that.

Two minutes later while downloading the third one JD complained again about not knowing where ffmpeg was. This time it offered to download ffmpeg itself, so let's see where does it save it, and if this time everything works OK.

I'll give feedback.

youtube plugin grabs audio links only.
jd2 is updated, core 23887.
i reinstalled jd2 to solve the update/crash trouble.
i'm using jd2 on mac leopard

I have solved the speed limit issue. For some reason , perhaps with the last update, as I never did it manually, the speed limit was reset to 10kb max in settings. As I say I never did this manually, I didn't know where to look!
Now am trying a YT download to see if it works.

The *quality* placeholder in the Youtube-plugin-naming-options is only using the resolution, i.e. "video (720p).mp4" and leaving out the codec-infos, i.e. "video (720p_H264-AAC).mp4", contrary to what is mentioned just above that option.

problem solved
it works perfectly when the variants are grouped by extension,
it gets just audio when grouped by media file and it doesn't get all the links when it doesn't group

Resetted config.

For me, grabber works OK.

But videos generally fail to download, most fo them.

They break connection about 80 or 90%, then go back to 50% or so.

It just finds no links now since the update. It worked just before I updated a few hours ago, but now no link adds from youtube, its just zero found. I tried looking at and setting the new plugin settings, apparently there are more drop down menus with format resolutions to check off, but it doesn't solve the issue.

Anyone else notice this?

Entire program seems to be buggy after the last update, right now i'm trapped unable to start stuff from link grabber pane, but my downloads are still going so i'll let it run till it finishes.

Hm looks like the patch they just released fixed it:)

I did the new update today (1-20-14)
The DL still works but yesterday the DL speeds were flying.....now after update the speeds slow to a crawl of 150kb/s avg. Unlike yesterday I was getting 2MB/s avg DL speed??

Ive never had to do that for any other type of DL. Plus Ive heard that increasing the max chucks can slow it down...I'll give it a try.....I just hope doing this doesnt screw up my other DL speeds

Ok new problem, the new plugin now seems to put everything in separate packages with the name of the video, this is less convenient than the previous where it would be all under a single package titled "youtube video", that way i could add a bunch of videos and pick and choose qualities for each. The current situation is where i have to expand each package to choose which resolution i want for each file, i guess this works if you only download 1 resolution, but if you have limited bandwidth choosing what you want based on content matters more.

I guess "group variants by" should be the setting,but it doesn't work.

Its esp bad when adding a playlist because then you end up with a long string of packages to deal with in link grabber.

@MrGonzo You can customize the chunks for youtube.

Enable the advanced setting: Youtube: Custom Chunk Value
And customize the chunks in the advanced setting: Youtube: Chunks Count

Not entirely sure how works the last advanced setting, because I have "15" as value, and JD2 opens "3" chunks. Will check tomorrow (Tuesday), maybe I have overloaded my internet connection.

The value is working fine, now I got "15" chunks.

How does one config JD2 to only fetch 1080p videos? I just tried to fetch a video and it went after the whole range of what is available. It had errors on over half of them. It got the 720p version, but failed on the 1080p version.

I see from the above posting that I need to enable YouTube chunks. Will be doing another attempt after one of the current downloads completes.

UPDATE:

This is weird. I deleted the YouTube entry in the downloads section and had LinkGrabber go after the YouTube link again. What is weird is that LinkGrabber only queued up the three files needed for 1080p (video, audio, image).

YET ANOTHER UPDATE:

While the LinkGrabber can indeed grab entries from YT, for me they still will not download. Or at least the 1080p version cannot be fetched. The latest attempt to get the video and audio files met with an error. What the error is, is not known. It just says to reset and try again. BTW, I have the latest version: 23911
