I am downloading from youtube but I am stuck with a 200MB limit, if I stop the youtube download right before that limit (so I can reset the limit), the progress goes back, by alot, when I "continue" the download. Is there any reason for this? Can I fix it?

some suggestions: mkvmerge;flvextract; video+ogg in mp4/mkv; webm,flv,3gp to mp4/mkv; video file without audio(no raw dash mp4;or no raw .264 file).mkv is popular open source container like mp4:angel:

Youtube: Custom Variants ?? (can I use it for ffmpeg multi commands?)

Hi,

If I stop a YouTube video download and click resume a little later, it resets the progress to a previous percentage.

Example:
Stop the YouTube download at 75%.
Resume the YouTube download.
Notice how the progress went back to 10%

Please note that the percentages are somewhat random, it might reset to 10% or 44% or whatever.

How can I get around this issue?

I mostly download "tutorial videos" from youtube. It means that,I do NOT need high quality audios. Therefore usual youtube files are OK for me.

I tried some other download tools and have seen that It is still possible to download video files including its audio as before, unless you look for high quality audio.

I really love JDownloader and I don't want to use any other tool to download regular youtube files. Please don't say "use other tools, if you don't like ffmpeg."

My request is this: Please make ffmpeg an option. Let it be possible to download as before, since I have verified that it is still possible. I really hate this way of downloading from youtube.

I added the advanced Option "Youtube: Extern Multimedia Tool Usage"

But use it with care! It will disable the option to download Audio Streams, and most of the video streams as well.

You're welcome. But I still think that there is something wrong. Because in normal operation, you do not even notice that ffmpeg is used, except the 1-5 seconds merging

maynak00 you can edit the used commandline of ffmpeg in advanced config. You can change the binary as well, but jd will get in trouble because he cannot interpret the output of mp4box.

SO I would suggest to experiment with ffmpeg to find the correct parameters.
