All videos downloaded from this source have been the lowest possible, without any ability to change this behavior. — I’ve tinkered with KVS but the poor quality links scraped/downloaded persist.

Hi,
our KernelVideoSharing base code should always chose the best quality by default. It failed in this case because their quality was labled "HQ" and not "720p" and our code was not yet designed to handle this. I've updated it so it'll work fine for thisvid.com after the next update.
