Same Problem here.
When I started the fresh downloaded jdownloader it told me that there are 20 updates. I run the updates and after it all jdownloader windows disappeared. I had to close it via the task manager. when i start it again now it tells me that there are 11 more updates to download. But after the update always all windows disappear again an I have to close it via taskmanager again.

What can I do? With which program can I open the JDownloader.jar manually? java.exe and javaw.exe didn't work.

You can try to delete the config folder of the one you already have but this didn't work for me , i had to redownload "JDownloader 0.5.917" and reconfigure it from the beginning , it will update to "JDownloader 0.5.949" and work fine
I did it exactly before, but the problem is still persist. The version is still 0.5.949, but there is 64 updates pending for me and cannot be downloaded.

Sorry, I can't read german. And I don't think it's a display bug, it's an update bug.

It is a display bug if you have already version 0.5.949 now.

Did you try to update with jdupdate.jar in JD dir ?

Yes. No luck. I'll try a clean install, but that's a waste of time :(

I did try to update with jdupdate.jar and even reinstalled and reconfigured a new 0.5.917 version. Brought it to 0.5.949 version. No luck. It is not a display bug. Because within update process the update window was abruptly interrupted at the beginning of the process.

Yes, but there is 64 updates pending. The build is right, but maybe these updates for some modules, addons, hosts, captchas and so on.

From a winblows command prompt it's usually:
Code:
 java -jar full.path.to.jar.file
For more help try
Code:
java -h

Default ERROR Host is down

"ERROR Host is down"
This is the message I have been getting for the last week when doing a webupdate manually and through the app. I'm at 5.917 with 23 updates pending...but all I really want is the auto unrar.

I'm trying to update manually through jdupdate.jar from 0.5.917. (contents.resources.java.jdupdate.jar)
Is there another way to get to 0.5949?

Nevermind..turned out LS wasn't alerting me. All good now.

Cool

I'm at 657 updates, but I don't update

I'll no longer use the updating system, because I've had too many issues with it as well. I'll always install a new jD version when it's really necessary.

How do I transfer my configuration setting and my links, with their status, to the new install directory, before I start it up?
