Default Memory Usage

I recenly using jDownloader for a long time... I opened my computer 24/7 and using jDownloader...

I accidentally focus on jDownloader memory usage. The memory usage of jDownloader keep increasing and never flush out. Should developer see about this?

There already are some threads that refer to your topic:

http://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=4117

Developers know about it and will try to fix it.

No... The thread you refering is about CPU usage, not memory usage. Beside, I didn't experiencing any CPU usage problem.

java 32 or 64bit

it seems that every 64bit windows has some problems with java, because users that have mem problems always have 64bit os too

try to change between 32 and 64bit java (deinstall the one and install the other) and see if it helps

Default hey Jiaz

dont want to create a new thread, but is this already a known problem Jiaz?

sometimes jdownloader freezes for up to 5 minutes (not downloading anything at all, thus losing all its connections) and when i open the taskmanager i see, that the javaw process is eating up all my memory in little steps (i saw it using it up to 400 or 500 megabytes).
then out of the sudden this crap stops and i can use my pc again.

cpu load is low during the times this happens, but the hdd is running wild.

any ideas?

I've got a memory problem and using a 32bit os.

I'm running my PC in 24/7 and after (roundabout) 20 h running JD my free memory is at 2 to 5% and the PC is unusable

Closing JDownloader doesn't free up any RAM, only a reboot helps.

In the taskmanager I can't see JDownloader, neither as a task nor as a process (Admin account with UOP on)

I didn't had any mem probs with the old version of JD and I don't have any mem probs without JD running

My Specs: Vista SP2, Java 6 Upd. 14, 2 GB RAM, JD 0.6.193: 2 Downloads, 2 Chunks, 3 MBit DSL Connection

You probably won't see JDownloader in your task manager. jD hides as a javaw.exe in jD versions 0.5 and higher.

Can you please be more precise about the older version that hadn't this problem?

Thanks.

javaw.exe is shown in the taskmanager with a memory usage of 65.000 Kbytes. All running tasks shown in the task manager consume not more than 750 MByte RAM but according to a tiny little sidebar widget almost all of the 2GB RAM is allocated and the system is unusable but only when JD is running. Something not shown in taskmanager allocates more and more RAM

The last two or three releases of the 0.5 version, but these versions were used with Vista SP1 (my old installation but with all updates and hotfixes), version 0.6 is installed on Vista SP2.

Can't use JD 0.5.917. I need a version wich updates only the decrypter plugins not the whole app. Does anyone has a download link for a older version?

Do you think a version older than 0.5.917 will be able to update the decrypter plugins and not the wole app? Let me know when you manage to do that.

Here are some older 0.5 versions :-

JDownloader 0.5.949

Cool

NOD32 antivir might be the cause of your troubles. Stop it and try again.

Don't forget to kill the javaw.exe process when you're sure it corresponds to your jDownloader program.

@Shadowl0rd: I'm using the same antivir software. Next time I will try JDownloader with deactivated NOD32.

If you already tried it please post the result.

no luck with antivir, I have uninstalled the antivir.. and same problem with memory

I have disable everything in my computer, all resident program, services, antivir, only with the minimum, and same problem. The program use more and more memory little by little... at the end the computer hangs because I don´t have free memory

In version 0.5 I didnt have that problem...
