This message clearly shows that something prevents JDownloader from removing its own files

I understand it is not possible to fix it.
The problem is that only moved the installation folder: C:\JDownloader2 to L:\Jdownloader2 I have no idea what the default permissions for JDownloader 2 !!! there is nowhere FORUM tutorials how to restore the default permissions jdownloader |

|

how to set it correctly for JDownloader 2?
1. The names of groups or members? 2. Permissions for? 3. Owner ? 4. Effective Permissions? |

How often do I have to repeat myself. It is your job/responsibly to maintain correct permissions/owners. When you start JDownloader as user A, then A needs permissions to access/read/write all JDownloader files and that is clearly NOT the case. It always comes down with you are messing with permissions/owners/UAC. I suggest to rethink about your whole way of doing this. See the board yourself, you are the only one with that massiv issues!

Probably my permissions are good, but when close JDownlaoder2 the process javaw.exe very long hanging in the background 1 minutes - 2 minutes (due to large folder CFG 900 MB 100K(Download)/400K links(LinkGrabber)), which is stored in the virtual memory(pagefile).

But this is only a problem with JDownloader, ALL other apps/save WORKS PERFECTLY FOR ME PC, no other applications and tools do not report these errors!
I wrote to the support of Microsoft9FORUM) and they suggest that the application Legacy was compatible with UAC. |

Large CFG folder has nothing to do with it. Its your overuse. You use more memory than your system can handle. Over and out. This topic is closed. Spend your system more memory or learn to live with it. Swap/Pagefiles are NOT for increasing memory for an application!

If your system only has X GB RAM, then you cannot expect to have a smooth experience when you tell application to use X-1GB RAM.
I suggest to upgrade to 24 or 32 GB

Please tell me what to do to files (zip) ALL kept in RAM (not on disk pagefile)
I checked on another computer (Psyhical Momory 64 GB (4 x 16 GB) RAM and still kept the PAGEFILE. So how much do I have to 96 GB ram of physical memory, or RAM 128 GB? |

100K + 400K links = 24 / 32 GB RAM ?

JDownloader only uses 2,6GB in your Screenshot. You allow JDownloader to use up to 10GB. Why? It clearly can work with much much less (of course performance will become worse, CPU increase because of more memory management).
Simple rule. Don't use LARGE folders! keep number of files per folder between 0 and 8k. The more files a folder has, the more memory does your OS need to handle the filesystem. You should use tools that show what exactly sits in swap/pagefile. A pagefile always exists by default until you tell windows to have smaller/none.

JDownloader badly managed muli-pagefile.sys (all drives)
One pagefile.sys = OK Multi-pagefile.sys (2 pagefile.sys or all disk) = problem |

Applications have no influence on swap/pagefile at all. Its windows that handles it. I told you what to do/where to look and yet you complain about JDownloader. If you keep on doing this, then I will stop wasting my time helping you.

@Jiaz - You do not know what are the default permissions for JDownloader 2?
I asked in other forums, but suggested to ask the question author applications JDownlaoder or forum JDownloader, other assistance can not give me. |

There are NO default permissions! How often do I have to tell? Your OS/windows does set owner/permissions. When you create a file as admin, then the owner is admin. When you create a folder as user B then the owner will be user B.

I suggest to remove all permissions/owners and give default all permissions OR zip everything, and extract again.

It works in all files, all folders & subfolders, except for the folder & subfolder JDownloader!

Another reason for messed up permissions I can try to help via teamviewer if you like

Ive checked and each time different cause. Either you accept my help via teamviewer or not. The issues are bound to your system/permissions fuxx up

And again same questions...
More memory -> better performance/less cpu Less memory -> worse performance/higher cpu do NOT use large packages!

STEP:
1. I installed(mounted) the new drive L. 2. I created partitions L (formatted) 3. Moved JD installation from the C drive to the new drive L 4. Nothing changed my permission! So nothing fuxx up. |
#26
|
||||
|
||||
Move Files within OS, OS of course keeps the permission! It would be stupid OS when all permissions/owners are lost by a simple copy/move

Perform just a test. Copy from drive C: to drive L: Permissions change, I do not know why, maybe the fault of the UAC enabled. I do not know how to register to log the action moving the folder to another location, what exactly is wrong. |

When you copy something from X to Y, then permissions/owners of X will be kept.
Permissions/Owner of Y has nothing to do with Y:\1.txt or Y:\Test Each file/folder has its own permission set!

I ask for permission to each of the root partition [E|F|G|H|I|J|K|L|M|N|O|P|Q|R|S|T|U|V|X|Y|Z] because each partition have different permission! |

Just to prove my point that your permissions are fuxx up!
I finally changed my UAC to highest level. -not one Windows UAC Dialog -not one error for 900k files -no update errors (10 times tested)
