I can't run JD2.

JDownloader cannot delete the given folder. Most likely because of your setup/ownership/permission changes

I need a newer version. Present is too old to run the installer. Need latest version: JDownloader.jar |

I had to find the .EXE file (JDownloader 2 Launcher.EXE) file to run as administrator.
The *.JAR file cannot be run as administrator. Run as Administrator is required with UAC enabled. And everything worked out.to run as administrator. Each computer has different permissions, but why the correct permissions cannot be granted for this particular system Take Ownership. Example: 1. Select Folder "F:\JDownloader2" 2. The installer related to "Jdownlaoder" should have additional installation permissions.

I have the latest file JDownlaoder.jar The problem is occurring. UAC must be enabled to prevent dangerous changes to the system.
This has always protected my system with Ramsomware as well. But JDowloader.jar cannot be run as Administrator. Running as Administrator is required on Windows 7 with UAC: https://i.postimg.cc/0yqSgNFD/PSo6G.jpg |

Please fix those permission/ownership/security issues by yourself.
This has absolute nothing to do with JDownloader! The error shows that your executing user that runs JDownloader/java does not have right to overwrite the file

But you haven't tested? You can test it?
Step by step. 1. Create a second account with administrator privileges. 2. Enable UAC. 3. Copy the installation folder to another partition. 4. Try/test running start JD2 |

I have UAC enabled on all my Windows Systems and never encountered any of your issues. And yes, I did copy my JDownloader folder around my system.
You are aware that "a second account" with admin rights does NOT have privliges to access the files of your "first account"! You cannot access other users data without rewriting permissions with help of your admin privliges! Please learn how windows ownership/group system works!

In Short:
Run/Setup/Install JDownloader as User A and then switch to User B will NOT work without manual fixing the permissions/ownerships/groups because B is not allowed to modify/maybe even read files from user A It does NOT matter that both users have admin priviliges!

I asked a computer specialist (ASUSTeK).
His company has the same problems and I need to contact JD2 support. Workaround: JAR extension does not run as administrator only EXE or MSI can be run as administrator |

How many accounts do you have? 1 2 3 4 or more..? Are at least two of the accounts Administrator? If so: Enter the names of all Administrators |

You don't even try to understand that you CANNOT change the user without having to fix all ownership/permissions, EACH time you change the user. EACH TIME!
This has nothing to do with UAC/Admin.

The tool does NOT contain adware. The installer contains optional adware that you can skip/decline.

I copied two files (to a folder moved to another partition) and run from two files:
Run as Administrator... JDownloader2Update.EXE JDownloader2.exe Without using .jar (as run) All fine now. Thanks! |
