Default DropAPK.to file sizes do not show

As of the past few days, file sizes for the dropAPK links do not show 99% of the time when they are added to the linkgrabber and/or the downloads category, I would have to wait sometime and right-click "check online status" several times for the size to show if at all or wait till the download starts which always show the filesize (similar to clicknupload links).

I think this is an issue with the host, however, I was wondering if anyone else can confirm this.

Please still provide example links, because the plugin update only is for very small files with few bytes in size

By the way, all links I have been adding from dropapk are showing their file size, so it appears to be working fine at the moment. Thanks for fixing it.

Can you please check what the website looks like when you open the link in browser at that time. Most likely the website no longer shows details about the file because of reached traffic limit or waiting time

I've downloaded several GB without any problem and file sizes are still shown
Please create a debug log when this happens, enable Settings->Advanced Settings-> Log.debugmodeenabled
and restart JDownloader. Now remove/add the links or rightclick refresh, and wait for issue and then create a log, see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...d-session-logs and post shown logID here

Ok, so here is what I did, before restarting/updating JD the links would not show the file size, so I restarted JD, updated it, and now all links for that hoster are showing the file size. So either the client required a restart, an update, or both because I did neither since it was fixed temporarily a couple of days ago.

Well, this seems to be an intermittent issue and I have tested on four separate installations of JD on four separate systems and the same issue occurs on all four of them.

Here is the debug log after adding the following three links that is missing the file sizes.

19.05.21 21.26.24 <--> 19.05.21 21.27.57 jdlog://8522825302851/

**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

I removed the links then disabled debug-mode and restarted JD, I added the links and the file sizes appeared, then I removed the links, restarted JD, added the links again and the file sizes are missing again...this is very intermittent and inconsistent without any discernible pattern to this issue.

Thanks for the log. Issue is caused by unsupported DDOS guard

I've found another small bug and added a possible workaround for the ddos-guard issue.

If you notice missing filenames (not missing filesizes) after the next update, please let us know!

Thanks,

So it was caused by them after all. I do not even visit their site, I just add a few daily links from other sites as I have been doing for months and there have been no changes on my end so obviously any change(s) with their ddos protection was caused by them or their third party vendor that uses that guard for them.

By the way, file sizes have been showing again today and I have made no changes, but then again this is inconsistent and intermittent. I will update one of the clients sometime today and respond with the status/results afterwards.

BTW, the svn section to view the details of the ddos status is prompting for user/pass authentication: https://svn.jdownloader.org/issues/87111

Update-1: All day JD showed the file sizes but now they have started missing them, it is if this issue starts occurring after a certain time of day or on schedule. Restarted JD but no change. Updated (there was an update available), added a link from dropapk and no change (file size is still missing).

Thanks for your feedback!

Regarding redmine/SVN Tickets:
That's under maintenance atm.
You can still check out our source code via these instructions if you wish to to so.

ddos-guard.net is just another service similar to Cloudflare so it can cause pretty much all issues explained in the Cloudflare thread.
As explained, website owners can allow users/IPs/applications by configuring their website protection properly.

A JD restart will NOT fix this issue!!
All you can try to do is:
- Wait and try again later
and/or:
- Change your IP (restart your router if you got a dynamic IP or use a VPN [or turn your VPN off if you were already using one])

Thanks, yes I was aware that they were a third party service like CF.

I have static, however, I have VPN and Proxy for UK, DE, and US that I can use, however, the file sizes have now been showing more often than not through out the day so not a big issue.

This is probably another one of those temporary annoyances from that service provider like the one CF often has by prompting us with captchas, having to click non-bot verification boxes, or making us wait for CF to check a few extra seconds before allowing us to enter a site.

From my experience, these annoying issues tend to be temporary.

Edit:
Yeap, The guard service is definitely on a daily schedule. It starts daily in the late afternoons around peak traffic hours and stays that way till late evenings/night, so during that window time frame there are no file sizes displayed for that host.

@RPNet-user: the reasons/causes when DDOS protection will kick in are unknown to us. All we can try to reduce number of requests but this can also easily be caused by overall IP Range (VPN/ISP...) usage of that service that you don't have any major influence on.
Worst case is that the download might fail and you will have to retry at later time
