Default getting started with the packagizer

I would like to have downloads from, say, youtube, go into a subdirectory

<base>\youtube\authorname

I think this involves using the packagizer, but I'm finding it tricky to understand.

Is there a dummies guide anywhere?

In your case I would recommend to change plugin settings in Settings->Plugins->youtube, to alter the package name pattern to have authorname, and then use packagizer to move all such links into a predefined subfolder.
In case you need help or got questions, just ask

Thanks for that. I seem to be making some progress, but can't quite tie it together.

In the youtube plugin, I've set:
Customised packagename: [*USERNAME*] *DATE[yyyy/MM/dd]* *VIDEO_NAME*

In the packagizer I've added two rules:
1:
If download url contains: https?://(.*?)/.+
Set download directory: E:\Backup\Downloads\jDownloader\<jd:hoster:1>

2:
If packagename contains:[*]
Set download directory: <jd:orgpackagename:1>

The second rule is meant to add another directory relative to that set in the first, but it seems to replace it instead.

How do I fix this please?

Code:
<jd:append>/<jd:orgpackagename:1>

@IanWorthington:
instead of rule 1.) you can also just use
<jd:hoster:-1> -> special tag -1 means replace by hoster name
same for rule 2.)
<jd:orgpackagename> -> just use the original package name and not a matched group of the pattern
