Default Headless update going from 3% to -1%, not connecting to web interface anymore

Hi

Since yesterday my JDownloader instance refuses to show up on my.jdownloader.org.

The last few log lines are:

Code:
Update Message: Check for updates
Update Progress: 3%
Update Progress: -1%
Update Message: Contact Server...
Update Message: Check for updates
I've also noticed that it tries to GET from https://update.jdownloader.org/jcgi/...s=SESSION_INIT.... but fails with 400 Bad Request. I've read on the forums that this seems to be normal behavior? It takes like 60 seconds being stuck at this before giving up and continuing.

Not sure what else to try. I start it with

Code:
java -Djava.awt.headless=true -jar JDownloader.jar -norestart
Tried removing Core.jar, JDownloader.jar, tmp and update again and also deleted cfg/org.jdownloader.api.myjdownloader.MyJDownloaderSettings.json and re-entered my account info upon startup.

The full log contains a lot of information specific to my user and system so I'd rather not publicly share it but I'd gladly PM it to a dev.

Any ideas?

Try it without the parameter -norestart and it should work.

In the following article you get more informations how to install and use it on a headless system https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...ded-devices/13

Not using -norestart has not helped. JD headless has been working for years with no problems. It just suddenly stopped working recently.

Edit: to clarify, I use -norestart because JD runs as a systemd service and to correctly detect whether or not the service is running, -norestart is required.

I have, in fact, completely removed any remnants of JDownloader from my server and reinstalled it by doing:

wget http://installer.jdownloader.org/JDownloader.jar
java -jar JDownloader.jar -norestart
waited for it to auto-close with prompt to restart
java -jar JDownloader.jar -norestart
waited for it to ask for my credentials, entered them

now it's stuck again at

Start Update
Update Message: Check for updates
Update Progress: 3%
Update Progress: -1%
Update Message: Contact Server...
Update Message: Check for updates

nothing happens, it doesn't show up in my.jdownloader.org

ok guys I have found a workaround but the problem seems to be related to ipv6 and the update server?

when starting JD with -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true to force it to only use ipv4, it works perfectly fine immediately.

I think it's having trouble contacting some jd server through ipv6.

@longoon12000
Please go to ipv6-test.com and post a screenshot of your results here (censor private data).

So you were already on the right path but you will need to find the reason behind your IPv6 not working properly on your own.

Instead of the solution you chose, you can just change the IPV_ preference in JDownloader, see:
